Love their Camp Echo. The place is very loving and cheering for anyone who visit them. They have huge pool area with Family swimming time as well as a Jacuzzi. Group activity area offers various classes all day. Moms can leave their kids 2 hours per day in the child watch.

A great workout facility that offers two pools, a well equipped gym, and many many types of group exercise classes. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hours are both early am and late evening. They even have free parking and childcare available to members.

Not a bad YMCA. There are new updatedsection that meet so old historic sections. Parking for the Y is very difficult, so beware.

First of all let start by saying that there are two McGaw YMCA. There are the club sporting facilities and then there is the residence. The club is free for the residents but I'd say that most white folks staying there temporarily or on longer terms dont use the club facilities, some Trump red necks that the economy and politics of the past, including Nafta, have brought to their knees and cant find a job. Those are scary. Black folks on the other hand are friendly and funny, natural alright, dont expect them to kiss your ring or talk to you formally. One comment saying that he could not bring his kids to the clubs because of the strange characters attending the club is just wrong. Actually their kids may learn something or two. The building is beautiful and in much need of a rich donor or two to fund a complete renovation of the residence. For swimming lessons for kids and teenagers training it is the only place in town. I just wish they add fencing which is about brain and intelligence over muscles.

I have been a member of the fitness center for a few years and while the equipment and cleanliness are above average and rates are reasonable, the efficiency and friendliness of the associates leave quite a bit to be desired. This seems to be the case across the board, from department to department and it begins at the front desk where you are greeted with banality. Apparently they promote the most ineffective of their staff. While staff concerns claim to be addressed, they are seldom rectified. Within the fitness center; when voicing possible safety concerns with the center supervisor, expect a response that puts the blame on you instead of actually putting the work into rectifying the real situation. They are just "friendly enough" so as not to seem rude, but need to remember they are ultimately in a service industry with an ultimate goal of community service and sometimes it's unwise to count on the generosity of the member to maintain retention. They also need to teach new membership proper gym etiquette, which Is nonexistent. I do not recommend trying to minic the exercises of any member. Most are dangerous and sloppy when it comes to their approach to weightlifting,, in particular. You'll also see people lying everywhere doing floor work, even if it blocks the only walkway and if someone forces themselves on equipment you may be using (because they won't ask) don't expect them to even ask if they can rearrange it to how you had it adjusted. Common sense and courtesy is abandoned amongst the members in this facility. Hoarding multiple pieces of equipment and jumping rope in high traffic areas is commonplace. I highly recommend you check out the competition before coming here.

Kids and old timers (men and women) make up for the 80% of the gyms population and sometimes get in the way. Since a lot of weight equipment is close to eachother, it's easy for kids to often run all over the place when they cross the lifting room to get to the basketball court and old folks take their sweet time moving to and from the equipment.
Tennis courts and pool are OK, I've heard yoga classes and whatnot are good too, sandbag room about as big as a bedroom but will do for 1 person. Staff is half asleep whenever they aren't signing someone up. Overall the facility demands a good level of perseverance to keep coming back to if you are paying for your membership.

Some YMCAs are good, some are to be avoided, and some are places around which communities are centered. This YMCA falls into that amazing third category. The services offered are excellent. The staff is always wonderful, helpful, courteous, and genuine. The swimming pools are fantastic and the variety of other facilities is exceptionally wide. Instead of overpaying for a gym membership, support your local community by becoming a member of an excellent YMCA.

Great swim team for Age Group Swimmers, and those entering the Senior swimming arena. Competitive enough that is your child wants to push themselves to the state level that can because the coaching staff are also good enough to get them there.

Great pools, aquatics, racquetball courts, lockers and gym. Great family locker room, child care for while you work out and family gym and swim. Family gym and swim will help you survive the winter with younger kids. Their childcare will give you time to get in shape.

There's this older lady who makes everything more difficult than it needs to be. Other than that all is good about the facilities, people and the gym.

Friendly staff with up to date equipment. Even has racquetball leagues for all levels. Nice place overall.

I go to the YMCA almost every day. I love the facilities and the people ... especially JayJay.
