I don't need a lot from my gym to be satisfied. When I visit this branch, I'm always able to find my preferred cardio machine and a free weight bench for the compound lifts that I favor. The bathrooms and showers are just as bad as hearsay would suggest, but I've learned to workout toward the end of my day so that I can wash up after in the comfort of my own home.

The staff range from engaged and very obviously hailing from a background in customer service to downright rude and dismissive. It's sheer luck as to which you'll encounter at any point in time.

Overall, I've seen worse from fitness centers.

I joined the gym...hoping to participate in the yoga and pilates classes...however, the classes were to advanced for me..I just started to heal from an leg injury...there were no beginner classes...so I started using the other machines in the facility...that was fine... I moved and purchased my own machine....I decided to end my membership....on 3 different occasion..1st time over the phone...I was told I couldn't cancel over the phone...I had to go to the gym...I went to the gym..one day after work...a week day...after 5 pm...and I was told only the Operations Manager could cancel my membership...between 9 am to 5pm..ONLY!!!!....ok...I came on a Saturday...and told again the Operations Manager was not there on the weekends....LA Fitness is a joke...The reason I was told that the Operations Manager WAS THE ONLY ONE to cancel membership...was for security reasons...I went today to cancel....and all I was asked...What's my telephone number?....NO ID WAS ASKED FOR?....It's funny when I originally signed up for membership...it was after 5 pm...during the middle of the week...how come you can TAKE my money anytime...and you can't cancel ANYTIME....I WILL NEVER, EVER...GO TO LA FITNESS AGAIN...HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

This is very nice and clean facility. I've been working out here for over year and I never had an issue with anything. The best time to go is early morning to early afternoons. However, I never have a problem using the machine I need.

They have a great team of professionals working at this gym! It's nice to be offered to validate my parking ticket without having to ask... (Because sometimes I forget). The locker rooms are frequently maintained and are stocked with toiletries. The clientele are very courteous and thoroughly wipe down the equipment at the end of their workout in consideration of other users. It would be ideal if they had dressing room stalls. There are a number of women who, like myself, have to get ready at the gym to go to work. It can be quite cumbersome to get ready on the shared benches between the lockers. There simply isn't enough room. Overall, great facility, staff and clientele.

We absolutely live this facility. The locker room is always maintained. The free weights section is always clean and maintained. The staff is very knowledgeable and always friendly and eager to assist. Be advised though you only get two hours courtesy parking otherwise you have to pay.

Great gym! I have tried almost all of the classes, and I am definitely getting stronger, healthier and more flexible in a positive, supportive environment. I love yoga with Monica and Janee, Pilates with Trinia, Zumba with Cristina, and conditioning with Che'rese or Nicole. People of all ages, fitness levels and body types are there, so there is no need to be self conscious. There is a lot of emphasis on focusing on your own progress, which I love. The locker rooms are bright and clean, there is basic shampoo, body wash and towels if you are in a hurry, and there is a big pool (though I have yet to try aqua fit. That class is always huge!). Friendly staff and a wide variety of workouts make this a great place to work out!

Fine gym, but the company's membership cancellation policy is horrible. They only allow you to cancel by mailing in a cancellation form that you can get on their website after registering for an account or by going to a gym between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday. Terrible policy meant to make it as difficult as possible for customers to cancel.

This location was nice and had all the necessary equipment. They did a free assessment which was helpful in guiding what I needed to do to maximize my gains. I had a consultation with the general manager of personal training, Lee.

Today I had my first ever fitness assessment and it was awesome. I learned more about my body in this session than I have over the past 6 years. I worked out on the battle ropes and felt it through my entire body especially my core. We did a few assessments that tested my strength and am I glad I came out.

Horrible customer service. I was handed a week pass by their sales team outside the Hyde Park location two days ago. When I went to use it, they decided to cut it down to a 3-day pass because I didn't sign up for a membership that moment. When I inquiring about it they claimed it costs the gym too much money. My question is, why pass out the pass then?! If they're handing out week passes it should be honored. Allowing for the gym to be tried out before being expected to become a member.

Horrible customer service!! I called today because i have a membership with La Fitness in Alsip and another membershit at Lifetime in orland park!! And since i work in Hyde Park i closed my membership wich was a basic one in alsip and was looking to close Lifetime and just come here but i changed my mind after i got tranfered to the manager so called!! As soon as he saw that i had a basic membership from Alsip he said that i probably would not be able to afford it here and just over all really rude. I have never been treated this way by a worker from a gym so im really disappointed. I will keep Lifetime and just get charter for on my break quick gym stops and forget about La fitness!!! They really need to do better with the type of people they hire to work with customers...

Disgustingly dirty. Theres a smoothie that was dropped in the hallway three days ago that hasnt been cleaned up. The machines arent cleaned. The bathrooms are really super gross. Towels overflowing in the bins, dirty sinks, and a urinal with dried blood stains on it.

This company shows ZERO appreciation/respect for clients, especially when you seek to terminate your gym membership. Don't waste your money! LA fitness will make you pay in advance even if you will not use the gym in the future! This company makes it outrageously hard to cancel, giving you only two options: mail a certified letter or go in person to one of their locations and have an operations manager cancel your membership, if you are lucky enough to find one at the location when you go. Suffice it to say, you can save yourself hundreds of dollars and your precious time by steering away from this consumer-abusive company.

They have a few instructors that are pretty good, especially at this price point. My main issue, which led to the 2 stars is that instructors are consistently late and no one ever update the class. It's very inconsiderate. I'm in a class now that was supposed to start at 6:45pm. It's almost 7pm and nothing. No instructor and no update from staff.

This place has everything you need if you are looking to work out whether it is weights, cardio, specialized equipment, and they even have cool machines not found elsewhere. Their group exercise instructors are also very friendly and give great workouts. I recommend this place highly to anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere where it seems everyone knows each other

This club is great quality. The panoramic views of the historical hydepark neighborhood are beautiful and inspiring. The club is very clean with access to towels, a wonderfully hot sauna and a Jacuzzi hot tub. The workout equipment is clean, organized and working properly. There is an incredible trainer there named Paris who is so talented at helping you achieve your fitness goals, and the GM Terence is patient and attentive, available to help with any questions or concerns you may have. This is the place to be! Surrounded by greatness and people who care!

This is the worst LA Fitness location I have ever been to and I have lived in 3 different states. Their customer service is terrible, most of their staff are rude, unfriendly, ill-mannered and disrespectful, except for like a very few people who make a effort to be polite (it is not that hard to be nice especially when it is your J-O-B). If it wasn't up the street from my house and I didn't love Trinia's kickboxing class I would have been left this dirty gym a long time ago. The only reason this place is surviving is because of their convenient location for working professionals with busy schedules who do not have time to go across town for a quick work out. I am so glad I am moving out of state next month so I no longer have to tolerate the people who work at this gym and their nasty attitudes.
