Oscar is a great instructor and teacher! He was very informational and helpful. Patient and kind. A great experience!

Oscar is the best instructor I've ever had the privilege of being taught by. For me being someone with minimal martial arts knowledge, his attention to detail for each student (no matter experience level) was very appreciated and honestly way more than you can ask for at his price. Oscar remembers everyone's name, and somehow managed to be kind while pushing us all to improve. I found myself improving quickly and wanting to go back again and again to attend the higher level classes. Not only do you get a great workout, you learn valuable techniques and skills even for practical self defense.

The atmosphere is nowhere near pretentious or overly aggressive/competitive - it is a place where everyone feels comfortable to grow and learn together no matter if you're there for simply physical health or if you've been honing your skills for years. The place is clean with ample open space, there are also bathrooms and showers with provided locker room areas. He even has bottled water and Gatorade for cheap purchase if you've forgotten to bring some.

In all, if you're looking for a place to learn, improve and practice martial arts, look no further! Oscar even offers a free trial class, so really there is no harm in at least checking it out for yourself!

A friend and me went there for a trial class. The class was at 5 and we arrived around that time. When we arrived at the building, we didn't know what room we had to ring for them to open us the main door. And by the time we got into the classroom, the teacher himself received us with an attitude, asked us what we wanted and told us to take a sit. He said: "It's 5:15 and the the class already started. You can stay but can only watch. You have be here 10 minutes before class starts." The angry tone with which he spoke to us, the aggresive look he gave us, and the way he just left without letting me explain him well was simply rude and disgusting. I had peviously had a phone call and an email from Bravo M.A., and I or my friend were never informed that we had to be 10 minutes prior to class or the teacher would disrespect us. From what I read in their website, he might be a champion o whatever thing in boxing, but he definitely lacks skills welcoming people.

After searching for some spots around Bridgeport that wasn't closed or retired, I happened upon this gem of a place run by Oscar Bravo. I only needed a couple of weeks of gym time since I was only in town for that amount, and Oscar was generous and understanding enough to accommodate my needs!

The gym has plenty of equipment for various martial arts: plenty of matted flooring, two boxing rings, five-ish kickboxing heavybags and two boxing heavybags (if my memory serves), a double-end bag, and another one I don't know the name of, some cardio hardware (e.g. treadmill), etc. They provide pads for class, and though I've not seen them used during my stay, there's equipment to practice throws and ground-and-pound. There's a mirror facing the more open area of the mats.

The classes are limited, and understandably so because I think Oscar's running the place solely on his own. But he seems to be a very personable and patient instructor. I know he offers boxing and kickboxing, not sure what else.

The facility is pretty damn clean with two bathrooms, I think two shower rooms, two locker rooms, shoe racks by either entrance, and some additional lockers near the mats.

If I return to Bridgeport and I have time to go to a gym, this is definitely at the top of my list of consideration.

Excellent technical knowledge for any skill level. Great attention to detail and gives practical advice and adjustments based on the individual, not trying to fit a student into a certain mold.

Oscar is a true martial artist who truly cares about his craft and it shows in his dedication as well as having students that have followed him for decades and drive in from all over the city and the suburbs.

I recommend him to anyone interested in exercise, self-defense, combat sports, or just a great time.

I mentioned to someone today that I'm training with Oscar Bravo at Bravo Martial Arts and their immediate response was, "Best trainer on the planet!"

I've been training in the martial arts for over 40 years and have earned blackbelts in two different systems and have won 9 amateur heavyweight kickboxing titles. I've never worked a trainer this advanced before, someone who is not only a world-champion fighter, but has developed his own system from the various martial arts he's mastered.

On both a technical and physical level, Oscar pinpoints your weaknesses and develops specific drills for you, pushing you beyond your comfort zone to be a winner.

He's practical, creative, disciplined and open-minded. He creates results!

Oscar is simply the best! Despite the differing skill levels of students in the boxing level 1 class, Oscar does a fantastic job of adapting quickly so that each student is able to maximize their workout. Everyone is given more than enough personal attention and coaching. If you are looking to become a skilled martial artist or boxer, wanting a challenging workout, or desiring to learn to defend yourself, Bravo Martial Arts is where you need to go. The facilities are also excellent. Bathrooms are spotless and you have access to multiple showers and lockers.

A serious school taught by a serious champion. Whether the students are new or experienced, anyone attending will walk away learning to fight correct and effectively. This is the place to understand the sweet science of Martial Arts whether it's boxing, kick boxing, Muay Thai, or grappling. Bravo Martial Arts is legit!
