Good variety of equipment and classes, though more early morning options would be appreciated. Kept relatively clean and staff is attentive. Validated parking (2 hrs daily) in garage attached to building is essential for the location and appreciated. However, I am annoyed that spa services (massages, etc.) were abruptly removed at the South Loop location and the remaining massage package I purchased now has to be used at locations that are not convenient for me.
One of the best location. Huge selection of equipment for legs.
It's not a perfect gym but I'm not paying for a perfect gym. They're open when I need them (24/7) and while some of the machines are worn I can always find one to suit my needs. Towels & soap are always available. Valuables lockers are free to use if you request a token. Location is good for me. Thumbs up.

Horrible customer service. I returned a rental in the upstairs garage and came down on the elevator and the black male manager and hispanic desk clerk wouldnt allow me to use the washroom for two seconds stating a liability policy but they give out guest passes everyday. I would never return to this place. I was very nice to these people and everything. It's sad how people treat each other. We live in a cold world man. What goes around definitely comes right back to you ten fold.
Love the salon hear. Deborah Anthony is a fabulous nail technician. Added bonus up to two hours free parking.
I've always had no issues with the XSport Spa but today was completely inappropriate behavior on the part of the Heidi! After my massage I stopped to speak with Virgil. We discussed nails and such and my phone rang. Deb (on of the nail techs) called me because she was told I was telling people that I won't get my nails done by her because she causes infections! Now I never said this and I was grateful Deb called me to get the truth. However, Heidi admitted that she heard ne say these things and SHE was the one who told Deb this. I do understand that people may hear different things but why is it okay for an assistant manager to gossip about what a client may have said to the technician instead of speaking with the client themselves? And to tell such a lie about what I said to the technician makes me feel like she was trying to cause issues between myself and that technician! I wish I could give a negative review because I would! However my interaction with Heidi has not made me want to continue with any of my appointments if I have to worry about her spying on my conversations and then spreading lies about me to the technicians!
Gym used to be good years ago when it first opened. Now all the space is crowded and not much room to walk around where you don't get in the space of someone else working out. They keep adding things and there's less space. Workers are rude and couldn't care less that you want to join. They are rather pushy people and not understanding. If you want a tour, they make you take a fitness test first before showing you around. Wastes your time.
There is 1 cleaning staff that does an exceptional job, but he comes in late at night. They don't make sure people are taking their belongings out of the lockers nightly. The same locks have been on the lockers for 8 days now! However, the new jacuzzi is great and they're keeping it clean.

I have to say I really love this place and hate that it took me so long to come back. I was a member of other gyms and they just dont compare. They layout of this gym is awesome. Especially the pool, it feels secluded and gives a instant comfort. The reason I say that is because not everyone is comfortable with showing themselves at the front door "LA Fitness". I love the staff there they are friendly and know their stuff. They know what's good for you. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for too #Higherstandards
Fantastic club!!! Big, up to date and friendly staff. Jay at the reception was super cool, professional and helpful. Highly recommend the gym.
I have been a member here for about 6 years and unfortunately, I have to lower my rating. The company does not invest in this location, so cleanliness has declined, things like the steam room, hot tub and sauna are always broken. Equipment for the pool doesn't get replaced with regularity (I bought about 20 pool noodles with my own money because I was so sick of the old worn ones they kept promising to replace for months). Oh, and the towels are terrible and they never have enough when it's busy.
I suggest if you're thinking of joining take a tour and make sure to check the equipment, locker room cleanliness and whether things work first, then choose a different gym.
i bought a hair and to the guy not touch my side burns. Then he shaves my side burns off completely. What the heck! I think i paid $20 to get my hair cut.
I've been going here on and off for two years. I'll start with the good. I love some of the staff. Always fun and friendly. I've connected well with some of the instructors and front desk people. My X-it classes are AMAZING. I've lost 25 pounds since taking those classes in December. Okay...here's the bad part. The locker rooms are always messy. The showers are always dirty I come here 4 times a week so I know. The X-it staff can NOT get on one accord with the schedule and it's so annoying. Recently the classes have been late or the trainer hasn't showed up at all. Greg who the manager (I heard he quit yesterday) ran great classes but there was issues with my billing, EVERY MONTH!!!! Its funky as hell. It smells like old ball sweat....EW! So yeah this my review. I hope it helps!

After using this gym for a few months I'm pretty disappointed. The bikes I like to use are always broken, it's always packed, the locker rooms are small and uncomfortable, the towels are small and cheap, the music they play is terrible, the water fountains don't filter the drinking water (like every other gym I've used) and tastes like chlorine, the steam room always seems like it needs to be sanitized and cleaned. These are the types of things you don't notice right away when you go in and sign up (which when I went in for the 7 day free pass they said they couldn't honor it and kind of pushed me to sign up for a membership even though they said they would be able to sign me up over the phone). After being there for a few months I'm going to cancel and I'll start biking outside when it gets warmer and lifting at home. It's just not worth it even if the price is a little lower than other gyms.
I just signed up, I enjoy the free group fitness classes. However what was almost a deal breaker when signing up was Venus the sales person was extremely rude. Also, it is a true bummer that the basketball court is always taken- you do not feel welcome if you want to play basketball
BEWARE! DO NOT SIGN UP! This is the worst gym I've ever been to - extremely shady deceptive practices to steal your money. Just look at all the 1 star reviews.
When I came in to sign up for the free one week trial they said they cannot offer me this but would instead sign me up for a full membership $40/month and then if I do not like it I can get a full refund within the first month.
I decided after a few weeks that the gym is much too out dated, has broken equipment, not nearly enough barbell equipment, is dirty and smells like hot garbage. However they said they cannot process my refund because they did not have an "electronic record" that I had visited the gym enough times and that they would have to review security footage to determine whether I had entered or not.
They accuse me of lying that I didn't visit the gym? How absurd is this? Of course I went to their crummy gym, how else would I have decided I did not like it. Its been 4 months and still no luck with a refund. I know of others that are in the same exact situation.
I did a free trial here and this is one of the worst gyms I have ever seen. The freeweight section was so crowded you are almost guaranteed to wait and everyone is in your way. The locker room is even more crowded and its filthy. I can't change without bumping butts with some stranger. Also, the sales guy was so pushy it was getting uncomfortable. I don't want any personal training, I have a routine that I like, but this guy kept going on and on about how I'm wasting my time and how experienced he is. They are pretty cheap but you get what you pay for. I overheard a woman at the counter explaining their cancellation policy, which is clearly deceitful. Overall it was a very shady experience and I do NOT recommend this place at all.
This is the hardest core commercial gym I have seen. The equipment is more than decent, and the hours are the best you can get in the area (24/7). Some leaks here and there when it snows, but nothing to worry about especially if you are looking for a hardcore gym. Most people at this gym are very serious about working out which helps keep you motivated. I met a couple of crazies here and there but those come with every gym ever! I totally recommend
I've been going here for about six months now, so I feel I can confidently review it. It does not deserve all the bad ratings it's been getting.
When signing up, the sales agent was serious but informative. He gave me the prices and answered my questions about the available family discounts for bringing someone else on board. While he processed my pretty quickly, he didn't try to up-sell me or add any hidden fees. He specifically outlined what I would be charged right away, what the monthly dues were ($39/month, which is pretty reasonable), and when the yearly maintenance fee would be. Soon after, the spa manager came and spoke to me and made me feel very welcome. I didn't want any of his services, but he said to stop by anytime if I changed my mind.
I have seen ratings on here complaining about the crowds, and they are right which is why I come here in the mornings. I went only one time in the early evening after work and it was a zoo. In the mornings I am almost always able to access the equipment I want in the large free weight area, and the machine/cardio area is so gigantic it's always pretty empty.
Since coming to this XSport, I have seen the actions the gym has taken to address some of the complaints I've seen on here. For example, every machine has a label with a number you can text if you see something wrong with a machine. I have only seen a couple pieces of equipment out of order and they were fixed the next day. I almost daily see an employee making rounds and checking the equipment for damage.
Next, every once in a while the gym posts a notice that they will remove any locks left on lockers overnight. This prevents people from camping out in lockers and frees them up for people who actually need them.
Last, I have not had any problems with the gym being dirty. I have actually found that it's pretty clean. I regularly see employees vacuuming and cleaning the mirrors, and the members are fairly good about putting weights back.
If I had to give a few pieces of criticism, it would be the following:
1) Scanning in sometimes takes a while because a desk person has to do it manually for every person. It would be helpful if members could scan themselves in.
2) There are only small towels, and they are only available at the front desk. I would prefer to grab a large towel in the locker room that I can use after I shower.
3) There are not nearly enough barbell clips. I spend about 5 minutes every day walking around the weight room looking for clips to use. The barbell-to-clip ratio is way too high.
Overall, this is a solid gym and pretty much the only real gym in the area. I've even met some pretty friendly members so far. Don't let the bad reviews scare you off!
The facilities are nice, everything is well-maintained and a sales rep by the name of Sam was extremely informative during my registration process as a visitor. However, some of the younger male employees have been rude to me and/or not helpful not once, but TWICE. One young man told me that visitors can NOT make a personal training reservation while leaving yet when I asked the next day, a co-worker clarified that it was possible. Lastly, while asking about a young man about the location of a sales rep, he gave me a rude look before his colleague could answer my question. Please make sure you are doing EVERYTHING in your power to make sure the customer service reps, in this case moreso the young males, provide *customer service,* regardless of the time of their shift. There is no reason for such a high level of unprofessionalism from younger employees who are the face of such a great brand.
This is one if my favorite locations. More than enough room to do your workout even when it's crowded. They keep their machines up to date and are pretty tidy.
They really want you to pay for it! Get this: Walk-in cancellations are only from M-F 10a-5p (when people typically work). You can send a letter but it must be certified (because they are so important) oh yea and don't forget the $10 cancellation fee!! Ha! And all the staff have been trained to say, "Idk. We just follow corporate rules." Good riddance!
Overall has so many great machines for lifting. But really very packed at night. Climbing wall is not currently operational which is a bummer.
Quite possibly the worst gym I've ever been to. A lot of workers standing around doing nothing. Not enough cleaning supplies for machines. In the winter and fall the sealing leaks in multiple places so buckets keep standing there. Not enough space to walk around the machines. Creepy grunting people and not enough space to work out. All the gym employees have terrible attitudes but no clue how to answer any of the questions. So there you go.
