Ebony is an awesome trainer! She gives you diverse work outs and teaches you how to use a variety of machines to build your confidence working out in a gym. She is also a great running coach! But the best part of her sessions are the stretches/massages- I feel like a whole new person by the end! I highly recommend her!
I went to this branch of XSport on Jan 13, 2020 at 9:18pm with a member who invited me. We walked in and we were told guests were not allowed after 9pm which i guess is understandable but i was told i could sign-up to get in. I tried to sign-up for the cheapest monthly membership just to try it out but the person who approached me for membership seems irritated and unhelpful. He just said sit here and said this is what you have to pay. It showed the enrollment fee of $299 plus the monthly membership of $14.99. Didn't even try to provide any other info as if he just wanted us to leave as it seems it was too much work for him. All he was doing when we arrived was making a milk shake for himself though. Anyway, I won't be coming back or joining XSport. There are much better gyms in the area anyway with better customer service.
Reply: I mentioned I tried signing up but ended up leaving so how would I get a key tag number? I don't plan on signing up anymore. Thank you.
Usually pretty clean, and a basketball court of course. I love Whitney one of the trainers she's a doll! They're all dope though.
You definitely get what you pay for at this location of XSport. The membership is incredibly cheap. While it has the machines of other gyms, it falls short in many other ways to other gyms. 1. It's not clean at all. They don't have wipes for the machines (just brown towels that you have to spray) and therefore nobody cleans the machines. On top of that, I've never seen an employee cleaning the machines. I saw a piece of gum stuck to one of the machines. 2. The wifi doesn't work in most places of the gym. The staff just says "sorry it's too busy and there is nothing we can do." 3. The lockers require you to bring your own locks and the locker rooms aren't very clean. 4. The classes are offered at times that are not very convenient or possible for someone that works the standard work day. All of these negatives are not a reason to not join the gym, but expect the very minimum from the employees and gym itself.
Good value decent equipment etc but some of the staff not all but some are absolutely terrible with customer service just nasty to deal with. Almost worth paying additional and going to a different gym provider with someone pleasant at least. Especially when your signing up or renewing for a few years
One of the rare one which has towels! Liberty Ville also!!
This facility is older with ageing equipment and overall is in need of upgrades and updates. Treadmills shake and are not very responsive to speed changes. I have seen them use tape on machine cushions instead of replacing them. Some shower stalls won't/can't be turned off. Some equipment is so old the numbers on the weights are no longer legible. For the area, you'd expect a nicer facility. The Lakeview location is much better but always packed.
Update: see image of mold filled hand dryer at this facility.

"Alrighty let's try this fitness thing out" was my exact thought a year ago when I was anxious to get in shape after being lax on fitness for too long. And boy did this place help. After joining, I was delighted by how eager some of the staff was to train me and very pleased with the attention the guys provided. Great team!

Very nice place to workout at. The crew keeps up really good with crowded hours. Mike is your man if you are looking for deal, training and advice. I really miss this place
Went to the spa. Canceled after a week. They continued to charge me for months an ongoing fee. They are scam artists. I will change this negative review if you refund all the fake charges to my credit card! - edited - They refunded most of the fake charges, but still charged me for one month, even though I canceled after 7 days. Review improved from 1 to 2 stars.

Started working out here 3 years ago and it's a pretty decent gym for the size and price. If your over 21, you may want to consider going to Lakeview or Pipers Alley instead. This gym has a serious high school-like environment in the evening. If you come here, I recommend early mornings or midday to avoid drama.

Very good location as well as had machines spaced very good so no one was on top of each other. Up to date equipment as well as alot to choose from when working out!
Compared to other Gyms in the neighborhood, the prices are low. Variety of equipment is great. But Gym is very crowded during peak hours. The restrooms are not very clean.
Not recommended if you don't like to wait for the equipment or workout with too many people around. I go only during off peak hours on week days and on week ends to avoid crowd
For the first time in my life I was asked if I had a passport. I was a guest at this location with my friend. Who the hell needs passport identification to enter a God damn Gym? I really didn't know how to react. Plus the guy who asked me looked like an Arab himself, before people will assume a stereotyped race. What would I respond? I was completely surprised. Just left.

If you're queer or an integral part of the LGBT community I would suggest you stay away from this location. We were treated differently by this pugnacious and arrogant big bald man who called himself the regional manager. We were always welcomed with courtesy here but this gentleman came forward to check us in today instead of the regular staff. Why was the regional manager so interested in checking us in and displaying belligerent, clearly homophobic behaviour? I'm truly ashamed and heart broken that I came across this man in my life. Yes people like me exist and all we expect is a little respect. We are not different.
The gym itself is good, but their business practices are less than upfront and honest. I was given false information and my "trust" was taken advantage of. READ the FINE PRINT twice and very carefully. Don't go by what they say in the sit-down meetings. Make sure EVERYTHING is in writing if they promise you something.
Watch out for the cleaning fee, cancellation fee, over the top card fee, 30 day cancellation policy which you can only cancel IN PERSON, M-F 10-6 (I think those were the exact hours).
If you are there for a limited membership, make sure you ask about a prepaid all included package deal for a given amount of time... one manager said he can't do it, one said he could. (I have a feeling they can pretty much do whatever they want).
There are so many different people in charge, if anything does comes up, they simply say "Sorry, I wasn't there when the OTHER manager said that, so I can't do anything." Or "Corporate handles that, or the 3rd party cancellation company does that... so sorry about the miscommunication, but we can't help you."
Trainers are great and wonderful to work with, but a bit expensive in my opinion.
Overall, working out there was good, but dealing with anything related to $, and my membership was awful.
Final thought, when I was there (three months), I never saw anyone clean the equipment.
UPDATE: After contacting the Member Services email, things got taken care of. That was a big positive, though no one should have to go through it in the first place.

I've been working out here for weeks and then today someone says that it's a premium location and I need to pay $10 to use the gym. Then he says I should buy $10 worth of cookies from him and he'll let me use the gym for free. Apparently they don't tell you when you sign up that some locations are premium locations. This company sucks and they're out to lie to you and scam you at every opportunity. All the people work on commission and are always trying to sell you more stuff. Avoid this company!
Pretty nice location. Good machines and pretty good staff. I would recommend getting a membership here. The trainer Edwin is phenomenal. If you get a chance workout with him!
I was only at this gym for a short time, about two months, although expensive, I paid for a personal trainer once a week. Anthony was absolutely amazing! From our first session together I felt comfortable with him and he was extremely helpful even when I was not there for training! I have nothing bad to say about the Piper's Alley location, and if I could give Anthony 10 stars I would.
Love this location, very courteous to me and my friend who always come in late with me as his guest. Late night Sunday front desk staff are always friendly, relaxed, and attentive. I live in Logan Square but we make the trip here. The Logan location treats people terrible.
Don't bother with this place. Your "one week free pass" is just to get you in the door so they can hound you with sales pitches. The managers Will & Adrian here are very unprofessional and Liars. Take your money and business elsewhere. They will trick you into signing an impossible contract to get out of and before you know it you'll be shelling out hundreds of dollars for something that was never agreed too. Customer service was no help and also rude. They just give you the run around and it takes about 30-45mis to get someone on the phone. Worst health club to even consider joining. I had to open up a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I'm still dealing with this issue 2 months later. X-Sport customer service has blocked my cell phone and I have to call from a different number to even handle my issue. Just shows how unprofessional this place is. I have never once gone off on a rep nor cursed at them so I don't understand why my number was blocked. Probably because they know they are in the wrong and don't want to own up to it. Definitely research all your options before you get screwed by X-sport and get yourself into months of arguing on the phone with reps and the managers here.(:
Update;
This company is still a joke! I was given an "email" to get a swifter response and the email doesn't even exist. See the attached photo.
If you love being lied to and screwed over, check this place out!

Don is the best check in clerk I've ever seen at a gym. He's a stud, and represents the kind of top notch individual that attends XSport. Highly recommended, just don't bring guests after 9pm ;)
Facility is pretty standard.
Went to upgrade my membership since this is a premium location, and was given the completely WRONG information by one of their MANAGERS. Not only was I mislead into spending an extra $100, but in every attempt to fix the situation either front staff had no accurate information or managers would not return messages. Pretty shady in my opinion.
Lied saying we could get a refund of what was left when my girlfriend signed up and they are still charging $276 for personal training even though she cancelled it after the first free session. They are liars and scam artists don't ever sign up for this gym.
I joined this fitness club two years ago. I'm a senior citizen who enjoys this facility immensely! Throughout my life I have had the opportunity to workout at many gyms, but I have to say without a doubt that this facility offers far more than any other place of it's kind! The staff is friendly and helpful as well! I can't say enough about XSport! I constantly recommend this place to all my friends! I rate XSport 5 stars plus!
I met this location and I liked the amentities, everything is clean. the staff friendly but it is a real problem is that parking, I did my training with the pressure that would only be two hours for free, finally I crossed the limit for three minutes and I paid 20 dollars, it is very expensive !!!!!
