Was visiting from Minneapolis and found this place. Owner, staff, and members were all super welcoming and nice. The owner had even ordered Giordano's for everyone, for Christmas Eve. Will workout here, every time I'm in the city!
Huge variety of equipment, great atmosphere. It may not be the perfect gym for the typical gym-goer because it doesn't really have amenities but if you like a vintage feel to your gym and you're serious about lifting weights its the place to be.
This place is legendary. A time capsule of body building and strength culture. 40k sq ft of machines from all generations. I spent a solid hour just walking around looking at the photos on the walls. The owner Dave was there both days we were there and was super helpful and accommodating. If you're into strength sports this is a must-visit.
Every piece of equipment you could imagine. I have yet to see someone not rack their weights(you'll lose your membership and its enforced), friendly members, clean, reasonably priced... Far and away the best gym I've ever belonged to.

Great gym! Lots of equipment and friendly staff. They also have in the back a great jiu-jitsu program Copa Carlson Gracie.
Lots of workout equipment. Nice and friendly people. Has a great martial arts program. Great workout space for anyone person looking to get fit. Has many floors packed to the brim with modern and useful equipment. Clean and has a restroom. Also has mini mart where you can purchase workout drinks and consumables. Overall, 5 out of 5

SO many fun toys and doodads, though a lot of them are somewhat space-consuming machines that might be better if replaced by more racks and deadlift platforms. Still, the chill vibes and enormous space make this a real Iron Temple.
Dave is a great owner and their no contract fees are awesome. For the price though, the equipment selections are a bit outdated and things can seem a bit crowded. They have vast variety of machines though.
Do you want a real gym or a high end fitness facility. If it's a gym, Quads if the best place in town. In fact, it's probably one of the best gyms in the nation for body builders. Long term member that's been to many lifting places. You won't a better place to workout.

Excellent Gym! Dave is a great guy with a legendary gym. A good mix of old machines with modern equipment.
This is my dream gym. I've wanted to join for over 10-years but was always in other parts of the city. Finally I moved nearby and it's reputation is well founded. The easiest way to describe it is The Venice Beach of Chicago. When you walk in you immediately feel like you've entered an 80's porn and the music fits. The best part is you can be sure that most of the people in the gym are probably stronger than you and they have tons of toys to lift, throw and play around with. Another positive that I like is I DID NOT see any of the men ogling the women working out. Everyone was there to workout and was appropriately respectful. Say goodbye to LAX and come play with heavy things!
This gym has ruined all other gyms for me forever. Spent a month in Chicago this past year and worked out at Quads regularly. Havent found another gym that comes close-easily the best weightlifting gym I have ever used. Has everything that you could want (free weights, equipment, space, chalk, etc) and more. Worth every penny

Visiting Chicago but I had to get my gym day on. A friend told me about this place. Home of the great Ed Coan so I had to try it out. Wow is all I have to say.. they have everything you could possibly think you want and more.
The only thing good about this place is a variety of lift equipment. The rest is iffy: showers - no soap and no curtains, questionable cleanness of locker rooms, no towels provided, a/c does not work properly, equipment positioned too close at times... $13 for one day pass for the above ? But if you like vintage gyms, it's totally your place.
Great equipment. Great gym for everyone, especially bodybuilders and powerlifters. They have 2 large floors, you will never have to wait for equipment because there is probably at least one similar machine somewhere else in the gym. Varied cardio equipment as well. Several power racks, olympic plates, plyo boxes, several types of barbells, dumbbells,... They have everything.
