Awesome gym. Instructors really want to see you learn and will push you. I used to go to a commercial boxing gym and those instructors teach because it's their job. The instructors here are people who have dedicated their lives to the sport so you know you're learning from the best. Fantastic workout and friendly environment.

At first, it's a gym and a good workout. Over time, it becomes a community of friends and a place where you feel at home. I came in with no martial experience and now I'm sucking a little less at it. Being part of the gym also exposes you to people from all walks of life. It's a wonderful learning experience that not only builds fitness, but also character, good eating habits, and lots of shin bruises.

Legit muay Thai gym with classes for all levels from "I've never trained" to pro fighters. Also includes early morning cardio class for conditioning. Best money I spend each month.

Been attending classes here for over a year. This is a very supportive gym, and the classes are great for all skill levels. I started with no martial arts experience, but I'm now in the best shape of my life.

Its a good gym and the coaches know what they're doing, but 2 things:

1) this place is way too overpriced, just for Muay Thai Its a ripoff. No student discounts or anything.

2) The gloves and pads at this gym smell god awful, they never clean them. There are many gyms in Chicago that clean the pads and the inside of the gloves 2x a day, but there a also a lot of other gyms that do not do this. It leaves your hands smelling awful and make you feel just disgusting.

However, the coaches have to be the best part, since they are legit and have classes for all levels, which no other muay thai gym in Chicago has. For example, the offer beginner, intermediate, advanced, and all levels; while every other gym within a 20 mile radius has only "All Levels".
Plus, a lot of professionals and amateurs train here and take many W's.

Other than the price and the glove/pad situation, this gym would be perfect.

As a new student ,I was welcome with a lot of help from students and trainers and was not intimidated by older students ... helpful environment to take your cardio to next level your fighting skills and improve to a better Muay Thai practitioner.... This gym have everything ...clean and have the same feel like Muay that places in Thailand.... The owner Jym and other trainers are serious and focus to get you better... Love this place...

As a beginner coming from France, I have trained for 9 months at Chicago Muay Thai Kickboxing Club. I had a great time there. The work-outs were intense, the instructors really engaging and I met friendly American people there, always trying to lift you up. I strongly recommend the gym. I really think that this is the ideal place to discover muay thai in a respectful way, and to stay in good shape!

I went to a trial class and was immediately hooked! I needed a stress reliever in a non-judgemental professional environment. It's an awesome workout, you really do sweat here :) I was a beginner and felt very welcome and encouraged by the staff. An added bonus is these are REAL Muay Thai fighters who are willing to teach you their skills. They've outgrown their space in Portage park, but are opening a new location just down the street.

It's a great place to workout and learn some self defense, but the reason i can't come back or recommend this place is because it smells so strongly of sweat. Honestly, it's disgusting, and the smell smacks you like a spin punch to the chops. I've been to similar gyms, and none of them had this problem, so i don't know why this issue is so pervasive here.
