After our old gym closed down a little over a year ago, my husband and I visited several CrossFit gyms in the city looking for a new home gym. The first time we walked into Windy City we were impressed not only by the size of the gym but also the overall vibe. Everyone we talked to that day were very friendly, and we thought this might be the gym for us. At the time I was going through treatment for breast cancer and I knew I would have to pause my membership a few times for upcoming surgeries. We had a long talk with Justin, the owner, who was so helpful and understanding. We decided Windy City was the place for us. All the coaches and staff have been so helpful and understanding about my medical issues, from scaling the workouts, to just reminding me to slow down and not push myself too hard. I think the best part about Windy City is the community. We really support and cheer each other on inside and outside of the gym. There are a lot of CrossFit gyms in Chicago, but I think Windy City is a really special place!
