I was a member for three years. I was extremely involved, brought friends in and got my husband to sign up too. We attended at least three times a week, typically more and cannot express how much we adore Trish (past admin) Tim, Gino and Dennis (past trainers). They were genuine, caring and kind in addition to kicking my butt at every workout. The members and trainers became my family. It was my happy place. If I could choose to be anywhere, I'd be there. However, weird things started happening. I won a challenge and my gift was an expired gift card to a place that was only open during the weekday from 9-5 so even if it wasn't expired, there was no way anyone with a job could use it. When I mentioned this to the owners. Nothing. When I won another challenge it took months to get my prize and I only got the one I did is because one of the trainers put up a huge fight about it because I had been screwed over before. The prizes aside, the owners were rude and inappropriate. I was in the best shape of my life, a size 0, toned and gaining muscle but as I was, my weight was going up. One night I came in and Kristen told me to weigh in. My weight was up from the previous week by two pounds. Her response was, "is this your way of telling us you're pregnant?" Yup. A fitness "professional", and I use that term lightly because she had no formal experience or certifications, told me that I must be pregnant because a size 0 weighed in at 128 lbs. I was upset, hurt and angry. That is so inappropriate and unprofessional. Every time Dave and Kristen were there, the mood was awful. Then, as all of my favorite people started leaving a long time member became a trainer. He was great at what he did and a fabulous sales person. He was let go for no good reason and now, just recently, the same thing with the most dedicated, kind person, Gino. It's complete BS. I was actually considering rejoining last week for a few months to get back on track since I heard that Dave and Kristen were not around anymore but when they let Gino go, forget it. They then lied to members telling them that he wanted to leave to move to Miami when he JUST got an apartment in Chicago and is by no means considering moving. Then after members got upset for them letting Gino go, Dave posted the most unprofessional thing on the member website whining about how the members weren't being fair to him. What kind of business owner, or adult with any job for that matter, thinks that it an appropriate way to handle the situation? I'm so disgusted by how this business is run and frustrated that a place that I loved so much is somewhere I would never return to again. If you want a good trainer, check out Tim at Orange Theory, Dennis at FFC or Gino who is working out of his apartment in CHICAGO.
