I was a member for about 2 and half years. The turnover of staff is very high, by the time you know someone's name they are already leaving.

There was one gym manager that was helping me and other members reach our goals by really having us commit to measurements at the gym and gave us recipes on how to eat better. He encouraged me when he had not seen me in a week or so and made an effort. The owners on the other hand did not. They would get to know you by knowing your facebook. It became impersonal and not a family like they sold it to me.

The workouts are amazing! The trainers are amazing! The price really really high for the lack of commitment on the owners end.

Please note the two reviews with last name Bostik are the owners of the gym. Please discount their reviews for that reason.

I had been a member of this gym for a few years. I should have noticed the writing on the wall shortly after I joined, that the owners were negligent in running a business. When a current member refers a new member they are supposed to receive a $60 referral bonus. I was encouraged to join by my wife who had been a member for over a year before I joined. However, the owners decided that she was not entitled to the referral bonus after we had been informed that we would receive it. I was willing to overlook that, based on the fact that the trainers were so great (Gino, Tim and Marcus at that time and Dennis later). After being a member for a few months I noticed a lot of members asking for more equipment, to try and push themselves harder during the workouts (heavier dumbbells etc). It took months and months of begging before any new equipment was added, meanwhile the other gyms owned by the same people had gotten equipment better than Northcenter. The other gyms wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Northcenter.

The same was true for broken equipment, it would sit in the office for months before being replaced, which made getting a good workout in, nearly impossible when you were handicapped by broken and insufficient equipment. I believe the heavy bags are still not hanging in the gym, for several YEARS now. It was clear at that point the only thing the owners cared about was the monthly fees coming out of my bank account. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was the connections I made to the trainers and other members.

The owners became more and more removed from the gym; which was very evident when they fired the one original trainer left, Gino. The owners created a lie about Gino wanting to move out of Chicago so they were going to "help" him. The only people they were helping was themselves. The response they received after firing Gino was far more negative than they thought, showing their ignorance towards the members at the gym. Gino was the main reason people came to the gym and stayed at the gym.

Save your money for a gym that cares about their staff and members; and have prudent owners that understand the happiness and atmosphere of the gym is why people will keep coming back. There are plenty of gyms that are not nearly as restrictive with hours and classes being taught. God forbid you would have to work after 5 PM. They had a great gym, but they decided to ruin it with lies and carelessness.

I was a member for three years. I was extremely involved, brought friends in and got my husband to sign up too. We attended at least three times a week, typically more and cannot express how much we adore Trish (past admin) Tim, Gino and Dennis (past trainers). They were genuine, caring and kind in addition to kicking my butt at every workout. The members and trainers became my family. It was my happy place. If I could choose to be anywhere, I'd be there. However, weird things started happening. I won a challenge and my gift was an expired gift card to a place that was only open during the weekday from 9-5 so even if it wasn't expired, there was no way anyone with a job could use it. When I mentioned this to the owners. Nothing. When I won another challenge it took months to get my prize and I only got the one I did is because one of the trainers put up a huge fight about it because I had been screwed over before. The prizes aside, the owners were rude and inappropriate. I was in the best shape of my life, a size 0, toned and gaining muscle but as I was, my weight was going up. One night I came in and Kristen told me to weigh in. My weight was up from the previous week by two pounds. Her response was, "is this your way of telling us you're pregnant?" Yup. A fitness "professional", and I use that term lightly because she had no formal experience or certifications, told me that I must be pregnant because a size 0 weighed in at 128 lbs. I was upset, hurt and angry. That is so inappropriate and unprofessional. Every time Dave and Kristen were there, the mood was awful. Then, as all of my favorite people started leaving a long time member became a trainer. He was great at what he did and a fabulous sales person. He was let go for no good reason and now, just recently, the same thing with the most dedicated, kind person, Gino. It's complete BS. I was actually considering rejoining last week for a few months to get back on track since I heard that Dave and Kristen were not around anymore but when they let Gino go, forget it. They then lied to members telling them that he wanted to leave to move to Miami when he JUST got an apartment in Chicago and is by no means considering moving. Then after members got upset for them letting Gino go, Dave posted the most unprofessional thing on the member website whining about how the members weren't being fair to him. What kind of business owner, or adult with any job for that matter, thinks that it an appropriate way to handle the situation? I'm so disgusted by how this business is run and frustrated that a place that I loved so much is somewhere I would never return to again. If you want a good trainer, check out Tim at Orange Theory, Dennis at FFC or Gino who is working out of his apartment in CHICAGO.

I worked out here for over a year. Due to pregnancy complications I am having to take a hiatus and I miss it. However, really like the short, high- intensity workouts. Fitness instructors are great. They keep it fun and interesting - theme days, special classes, etc. Also, people who workout here are health conscious but normal which I appreciate.

A great 35 Minute High Intense workout. Trainers and Management very Friendly. Price is reasonable for what you get than a one on one personal trainer. Group Training is so much fun.

The entire Fit Body Boot Camp team works hard to provide a fitness experience that is second to none! Not only does the entire team help clients attain their goals through challenging 30-minute workouts, but they provide support when you're not at the facility through various means like Facebook, texts, calls, newsletters, and more. In addition, they check-in on people who haven't been into the gym in a few days. The people you meet at the facility are awesome! You're not just another number at this facility, you're part of a Fit Family, which makes it so much easier to get in shape and stay on track.

Not only do they help clients reach my fitness goals, but also it's clear that they want to create a positive shift in the local communities and throughout the world. In the fall, the team and members collected over 3,000 canned goods and donated it all to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. They also do a toy drive every holiday season for Toys for Tots. Great workout and great people that support a great cause!

Fit Body Boot Camp is AWESOME! Since they opened their doors, I have attended several workout sessions (actually 2 on the first day because I loved it so much). None of the workouts have been the same; however, each workout has two things in common: a highly energetic fitness instructor as well as a high level of intensity. They do an amazing job differentiating workouts. If you have any ailments, they modify your workout accordingly, but still push you to give it your all. The activities range from box jumps to lunges to free weights to TRX to medicine balls and more! What I really like is how a warm up (active stretching), the workout, and the cool down (yoga and pilates positions) are all included in the 35-40 minute sessions. Workout sessions are well rounded, and because of it, I feel great after every session!

Another thing I like about Fit Body is the accountability. Upon beginning, the owner, David Bostik and his staff, not just told me about the importance of consistently attending sessions, but also eating well. They set everyone up in a system where you can log your weight and body fat percentage weekly, write your goal(s), as well as what you will do for yourself as a reward when you attain your goal or what you will do if you don't (for example, do 75-100 burpees). This has forced me to be more conscious about what and how much I'm eating. The Fit Body team also gives you a journal where you can track your activity and eating. They are committed to helping you while you are here as well as encouraging you to maintain healthy habits when you are not.

Additionally, I love the sense of camaraderie. I am getting to know the other people in the session I attend. We often laugh throughout the sessions. Fit Body is a high energy and fun atmosphere for both males and females of all ages and sizes. I greatly enjoy hearing other people encourage each other to push through the workouts.

I am addicted. Come check it out and see for yourself and you'll become a Fit Body addict too!

I have been going to classes at Fit Body since they opened 2 1/2 years ago and cannot imagine going to another gym. The staff is wonderful: owners Dave and Kristen pay great attention to every member, making sure to celebrate each member's growth, and the trainers Gino, Dennis, and Marcus are incredibly encouraging and attentive, making sure to always correct people's form to prevent injury and motivate the members to work harder. The members are wonderful and encouraging, making Fit Body feel like a family. The workouts are constantly challenging but go by quickly. I have seen myself go from an uncoordinated mess who could barely do a push up to someone who loves to work out. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a challenging but effective workout.
