Rockwell Barbell is a weight lifters paradise. They have everything available: Chains at all different weights, all kinds of bands, recovery tools, lots of bar options, tons of squat racks, benches, deadlift platforms etc...
The people who work out here are serious about their training, but they are also very inclusive. I can't lift nearly as heavy as many of the women who work out here, but I'm never made to feel 'less than' because of it. The trainers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. You know a gym's members are focused on good form when you see them regularly going through good warm up routines. Lawrence (the owner) in particular has been an incredible help on improving my form. He is a serious body wizard who is able to pick up on technical details with movement patterns during a lift. He provides excellent coaching.
This is not really a negative, but rather something to note: If you're not a fan of metal, you won't love the music that's played 70-80% of the time. You can always wear your own headphones and rock out to whatever you want.
I highly recommend this gym. I always look forward to my workouts here.
Rockwell Barbell is an amazing place to train with an incredibly welcoming community of lifters to learn from. Great equipment selection and a truly old school feel without the pretension. If I cups move this place to my hometown I would.
Rockwell is a great gym with a great community. The trainers are knowledgeable and friendly, but definitely the keyword it train. They will hold you accountable, which is what I want in a trainer for myself. They are welcoming and inviting and are great to be around
One of the best gyms in Chicago. Intimidating from the outside, but take two steps in and you'll have a new group of friends. All of the trainers at RWBB are highly recommended, especially Christy Senay. If you want to get strong, come here.

it's an inclusive place and i love the hard working environment. and the loud music. and that they have so many squat racks and dedicated deadlift areas. there are a lot of reasons why i like this place over other gyms.
the trainers are hard working too. it's infectious.

Between the management and the people that work here, this place is awesome. Plain and simple, the staff and atmosphere will inspire you to hit your powerlifting goals. Whether you're a beginner to weightlifting veteran, Rockwell's for you.
If my form is off or I need any help with a move/spot, staff and even other members are more than willing to help out. I see myself here for a long time and highly recommend others to try it out: you won't be disappointed.
No BS trainers that know their stuff. Everyone is focused but also enjoying themselves. I see people of all levels, sizes, ages, etc here and everyone is welcome.
This place's atmosphere is a great mix of serious training and welcoming attitude. There's a better variety of equipment for weight training here than at a basic gym (kettlebells, sled, chains, ropes, etc.), but despite that intensity, everyone is really friendly. Rae is an amazing trainer who has helped me to improve quickly with my squats and deadlifts. She still has not incorporated the sword on the wall into our sessions, but maybe I'm not at that expert level yet. I would recommend Rockwell Barbell to anyone looking to improve their fitness level beyond running on a treadmill. Ask to get signed up with Rae!
The trainers are extra extra knowledgeable about their stuff. The best chicago powerlifting gym.
My favorite gym on Chicago. Its the place that I call home.
