The place is fun for the family. It was an absolute ghost town went we took the kids. They have little walkers your kids can use to stay balanced. Perfect for my 5 year old. My 2 year old I had to bunch over and scoot along the ice. Will definitely be going back for some fun ice skating antics.
Great place for kids to take skating lessons, very clean facility, and very friendly staff working with kids learning how to skate.
We had a deluxe birthday party package. It was a blast! Everything was so easy and the staff were fantastic! Great value and great fun!
Fun enough, but don't put on website that there are accessibility sleds for public use if the person at the counter can only give it to you if you "aren't walking". Invisible disabilities and other health issues are a thing and it was upsetting to be told the sleds can only be used if you come in in a wheelchair... Had an issue getting one last time too and was only able to get one when my friend with cerebral palsy asked for one for me because she was in a wheelchair.
This is a neat older building to play hockey in. For the most part it is very accessible inside. Parking on u of I campus can be a hassle. Inside they have tried to update without losing the character of the old arena. It's a larger ice rink to so lots of ground for skaters to cover. The snack bar has s nice selection including hot foods. For an ice rink it's not terribly cold but if you get chilled easily and are a spectator bring a blanket. I look forward to coming back if our team gets the chance.
Nothing like a little U of I Hockey in the winter.
Great place and it is people who guard also helps in you learning it.
they were very understanding of my son having special needs and accommodated us and allowed us to do things so he could try and skate. We will be back next year for round 2!
Has a nice Olympic sized rink. (larger then normal)

Best place I'd like in illini campus! They had a huge ice for skating. And you could skate there if you prepared your own shoe for free and met many different friend.

Bad. Did not know it was closed until there. I looked on the website and it said nothing about it being closed

The only ice rink where GPS works, that I know.
Weirdest sheet of ice I have ever seen, Most say its "Olympic Ice" well its not.. Its 197 ft x 135 ft, its a 1/3 Olympic Speed skating rink, and not in any way an olympic ice hockey sheet. its just weird. They should buy a set of boards to run down the one side at 85 ft, Then then can fix the lines and the circles.. But have also heard they are getting a new facility..

Always a fun place to skate. The open skate can get crowded, especially on the days where they offer half priced skates. The staff are very helpful and kind.

Fun fairly affordable family experience. Bring cash for the snack bar!
Awesome rink can't beat the Illini boys !!!
I have been here twice to watch games. It isn't huge and no matter were you sit you can see the whole rink.
We are from out of state and used the website it says they are open from 130 to 4 pm. We traveled to go there and a tiny sign is taped to the door saying they are closed till August for repair. This should be prominently posted on the web page to not waste peoples time and meter money. Just rude Illinois
Great place for public ice skating. Check their site for hours, but if you're a student, you only save 1 dollar by going on the "free skate night". It's way more crowded then, so would not recommend on that night.
