BURN Studios is located within a short 10 minute walk of my house. I explored BURN with Jeremy before it opened, from an area that was a field for many years.
I belong to a corporate sports club (Concourse Athletic Club) where I've had a dedicated personal trainer 3x a week for 2 years. The dedicated longer, amenities, all have been good but the trainer plateau set in over the summer. The pursuit of my in the month, and year goals, focus changed to cardio. Running on the track, machines, outside, yawn. I work 45-50 hours a week, gym time in the morning is my personal time.
Why BURN Studios? Describing BURN, it delivers to me the equivalent of Nordstrom customer service, great instructors, clean, clean and fellow other fitness goers. Work is demanding enough on my time and I need something that I can manage and know things are set.
My first experience - Open the BURN Studios app, select the class, select the bike location, click confirm, done. Arrive, shoes waiting in a cubby linked to the bike selected. Place shoes and personal belongings in lockers and cubbies, into the class. BURN recognizes people that are new, not in calling them out for being "new" but how can they help to ensure you are set up for the best experience and an optimal work out. Tyler stops in, checks the height of the bike, seat location, explains the technology and checks to be sure a thumbs up. Lane was our instructor, checked in with me by name, everything all good, and welcome. Class starts, great music, nice, dark, leaderboard going, push, push, push, push. Shouting out peoples names, pushing to hit 400, 500, 600. Completion of workout, an email with my stats, and can see them all on my dashboard, give feedback on the instructor every time. Note: the cycle room can get a bit toasty at any time of day. In the BURN Cycle class, some show up just for the competition, they can be a little distracting as they have one goal, beat everyone else and the routine isn't in the equation. Luckily, small group I've experienced so far.
Classes being only 45 minutes? It's never fun to rush at a gym, one ends, another starts, people dwindle. Plus, restock the towels, and they wipe down everything. This place is constantly kept clean which after experiencing places where cleaning things wasn't quite on the list, love that it's always clean and ready to go. I BURN more calories in 45 minutes at BURN compared to 1 hour in other sessions elsewhere.
Recommendations, try out the five class if you're unsure. If you have demands on your time and you need flexibility, While I try to release my spot 10-12 hours out, it's not always possible. I work for a global company, work may go until 8, calls at 10pm, meetings at 6am, some last minute. BURN Concierge is a must for me to balance the demands of my work and have the flexibility of exercise options. I may have calls at 11pm, and others at 6am, sometimes last minute. Concierge gives me what I need to ensure I can stay on track, cancel, book another, waitlist. Plus, with Concierge you can book a little further out to try to plan out your week. I never look at Concierge as a means to take advantage of the flexibility, or take spots, it's to have the flexibility when you really need it.
