Michael made it easy for me to drop in at CFDt'A. Simple enough that I told some other guys at the conference I was at, and those four dropped in as well.
At my box in San Antonio, CrossFit Optimistic, we start every day with a 400, it's simple, it's basically a building run. Well, the 400 at CrossFit Downtown Atlanta, there is no way that was a 400. I was starting to huff and puff and as we went back in I was watching the Endurance class go and was starting to wonder what they had in store for us. I was getting a little nervous because the Endurance coach was working their tails off!
After our run through the parking lot, take a right, run to the stop light and back, so if you're a drop-in to, now you know where you're going... We grabbed PVC's and had a good stretch and did intro's and your favorite non-alcoholic beverage. Some places when you drop-in hardly acknowledge you, some places will welcome you right in. This was one of the experiences that you might be here for the first and maybe only time, but they treated you like it was your 100th visit. I made three workouts at my home box last week and 18.5, then sitting at tables during conference's for 10-12 hours a day, two days in, I needed that stretch badly. I'm so thankful they took the time for a proper warm-up.
Afterward, we had our strength condition and then the WoD. Technically I don't remember which one was harder as I was sucking wind. EMOM's are always brutal, but I pushed right on through that.
I have to say the coach, Brian, is great. Solid form on the lifts and jerks, he's a great coach to have on the staff and look for his name if your dropping in on ZenPlanner. I do a lot of drop-ins around the country and he was one of the best I'd ever worked with.
I cannot do pull-ups and toes to bar yet, so I have to scale down. Not a problem at all, they will work with you and get you to where you want to be.
Thanks for the great drop in, and hopefully work will have me back in your area again one day.
