My friend, Joey, recommended this place to me. At first, I am worried that they might not get my satisfaction right. But they exceeded my expectations. Will recommend to anyone!!

Most authentic and serious gym in Tampa that I've visited. Small but has everything you need. Locally owned and operated, I pass 3 big box gyms on my 15 minute drive here and I do so happily. Best leg and back equipment anywhere I've been as they do have a strong bikini training program. Love the back warehouse area which is not climate controlled.

My favorite gym in Tampa. Awesome trainers and coaches, great management (shout out Ruben!), advanced equipment you don't find in most chain gyms. If you're serious about fitness and want a gym to help you reach your goals, Optimum is the answer.

Great gyms has equipment you wont find anywhere else.
Only real complaint is No showers!?!?! Which for any gym not to have one is a joke. Also for big meatheads like me there is not enough 45lb plates. Other than that its pretty good, and best 24/7 gym in South Tampa

Great gym that is open Open 24/7. It has all the necessary equipment and always up to date. It is very clean, and the fees are reasonable.

Extremely diverse and well maintained equipment. The staff are really friendly and helpful also. 5 stars! I wish this was my local gym.

Optimum gym advertises as a nice gym to visit with professional staff. When you enter the place is overcrowded with equipment. It is hot throughout the building. There is one small bathroom. Ruben is the owner who preys on girls at his gym by giving discounts. Try to make them become bikini fit girls. He has sex with them. He sexually harasses them. Stay away.

Literally the best gym out there in tampa, members and staff here are super friendly and knowledgeable about anything and everything. They treat you like family all the time and if you have questions about anything the staff is surely helpful as well!! Best gym out there!

Can't go wrong by choosing this gym. Open 24/7, very clean, and it has all the gym equipment necessary for anyone to get in a good workout. The owner seems to always be there finding ways to make the gym a better experience, and is constantly ordering better equipment to stay up to date. I used to go to other gyms in Tampa and spend way more money, but found a good home at Optimum Gym. Ashley and Ruben helped sign me up, and both are friendly to me each time I'm there. It isn't the size of a national chain gym, which is actually a good thing, and they also take members opinions to better improve the place. I've read a few of the bad reviews of this gym, and I personally disagree with them. I pay the same amount as all the other people I know who go there, and the owner is nice to me. This gym is certainly worth joining if you're in the market for a new place to train.

Optimum is a place to bring your towel and train hard. This environment is for fitness enthusiasts, gym rats and exercise purists who are looking for a work-out environment without nonsense. You get 24/7 access and a great selection of equipment--both brand new pieces as well as some old-school vintage machines. I highly recommend this gym.

The reason why many women are here reviewing the gym is because Ruben loves to give discounts to women but not men? My friend signed up for the gym and she had to pay $30 to get started and when I come in to get the same deal I get told $80 to start. Ruben is obviously sexist and gives discount to certain people. Shameless. I wouldn't want to be a part of such discrimination for no reason. The only reason to give Ruben(owner) 5 stars is because he's playing all the women into his gym.
Update: Your lack of control over your employees is embarrassing and now you want to use her as an extension to me who has nothing to do with what happened with her. You're ripping people off based on their sex and that's unfair that is all that's in my review. I fail to understand what my connection to your employee is. The fact that you are disregarding my review based on something that happened recently and you personally addressed me just shows that you're covering something up and that's great for business.

The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, highly motivated, and awesome people to be around. I've never been in a gym with a better vibe. It has met my expectations as far as helping me keep focused on my goals and providing easy to use equipment for efficient workouts. The gym is also clean and appealing.

If you want a mid size gym full of knowledgeable, supportive staff and chock full of equipment, this is your gym. Its 24hrs, convenient location on kennedy, and run by people that truly care about you fitness goals. whether its your first step on a treadmill or first step on a stage, Ruben and his team are there to make sure you'll make it your best! I highly recommend this gym to my friends and try to get them into my boxing class too!!
