The Management is well below the worst I have seen! No people skills, lack of Knowllege to what makes your club a signiture Club - Did not have the answer !? Unaware of what is going on in the Club. The whirl pool has been broken for over 2 Month's, and Managers would lie about what & when it will be in working condition. The men's Sauna is FILTHY! Manager was told about it numerous times and nothing done! Please corporate, Please get involved! Thank You.
Boy they love pressuring people like some car salemen, have never had a more stressful experience in my life buying something.
I go here all of the time. Like working out. Has alot of machines, and free weights. Staff is very nice.
Had an amazing experience with Annie. She's the right amount of push in a trainer who not only cares about the workout, but the diet as well. If you're interested in building muscle, losing weight, or even just a more healthy approach, she's a great person to work with.
This club wants to be a signature club but is worst than clubs way cheaper than they are. The locker is always dirty and messy, they are out of towels, paper towel and soap all the time, the sauna is constantly broke and is just a mess. Only stay here because of the convenience of the location, but they should either up their game or take the signature sign down.
Great staff. Amazing facility. They have a sauna which is a huge plus. The staff let me do a one day trial and will be doing a 2 week trial under a friend of mine to see how I like it. I will most likely be joining this gym. It has everything you need and more.
High quality machines
As a real estate agent, I am every where so I keep my gym bag in my car and stop at the nearest LA Fitness to get my work out in. This gym is a Signature LA Fitness.( minute upgraded amenities) but it has the skankiest, most putrid, low temp smelling sauna around. Every time I go there I keep hoping that I don't have to take shallow breaths, other wise I will vomit.
The good thing is, this gym has the greatest number of the most beautiful women in the west coast of Florida the other gender is represented as well.
Really glad to be done with this place. Most of the staff and especially the salesmen and trainers strut around like they are VIPs - apparently, you should be so lucky to be a paying customer. Finally ended things when a trainer demanded that I step out of a hardly used "personal training only" area and refused to provide his contact info or availability so I could talk to him about my complaint. Canceled my membership at a location in Clearwater, where they were much friendlier and interested in feedback.
Absolutely love this place. Great equipment for lifting and more cardio machines than most places. The downsides are there are time periods where non regulars flood the place and make it really crowded. The newbies seldom re-rack their weights and leave stuff all over.

This place is always clean. Plenty of parking spaces. I have not attended any classes.

This South Tampa LA Fitness is a busy club that the staff can get the paper towels stocked, never can get toilet paper stocked, never can clean the mold out of the shower stalls, never can clean the disgusting smelling carpets.
I called to cancel my membership and Celina was the acting manager told me that I could go online, print the cancellation form and mail it in. Never a question of why a customer wants to cancel.
LA Fitness on a whole is disappointing but this club is just disgusting, dirty and smells horrible. I wish I had taken pictures of the shower stalls. Planet Fitness or Crunch offers cleaner facilities for less money. The only this Planet and Crunch does not offer is molding/stinky saunas.

Nice gym with plenty of free weights, machine weights, cardio equipment, pool, sauna and whirlpool. The staff however doesn't really seem to care if you're there or not, most of them at the front desk don't even look up when you come in and you would be extremely lucky to get a hello or welcome. This really is a great gym. Huge and tons of equipment. But late in the afternoon the heat is becoming unbearable. Not sure if they are trying to save money on power but it has to be around 80 in there at times.
Lots of really annoying things about this gym (i.e. overcrowded, lack of machinery for back, lack of ab workout space, dumbbells only up to 100 lbs, etc.). The number one annoying thing about this place, however, is the DJ they allow to come in every couple weeks and REALLY interrupt your workout. I have a Powerhouse membership as well, and I would go there 100% of the time if it weren't so far away. Do yourself a favor and look for other gym options. They should've kept the Hyde Park location open. It was a million times better.
Update: 6/29/18 - The really annoying/talentless DJ is back. If you're serious about your fitness, go somewhere else. This place is horrible. Downgraded to 1 star.
I moved from St Pete and this location is the only one around downtown Tampa area. It smell really gross. They have a full service cafe inside and it always smells like raw onions and meat. Very unpleasant smell while working out. Kids area is dirty, carpets have not been washed in a long time. Locker rooms are old and dirty. Equipment is nice , staff is nice.

Bad experience with the manager and all the employees are rude as well as the manager. Besides all it is a decent gymnasium or a health club. I would not recommend any communication between managers or salesperson.
Great gym! Lots of options for machines and excellent selection of classes. I have been a member for years and am always pleased with the service if I have any issues.
If you are young, fit and attractive the staff will give you plenty of attention and conversation however if you look like you need a gym membership you get ignored. It's impossible to get a staff member to be helpful, friendly or actually interested in explaining how to use the equipment. Im not coming back, staff makes me feel like I cramp their style.
There is nothing special about this gym. You're paying a lot of money for equipment you can get at any gym. The employees boast about it being a signature club but that only means towels and shampoo/conditioners for you to use.
Although it's two stories tall it lacks the efficient space for people to freely move around. When we were there touring, people were practically on top of each other just to stretch. We almost got hit 3 times going in and out of the parking garage too which I'm sure is great for business.
I would stay away from this gym it is not worth the cost.
This is supposed to be a "signature club" but it doesn't even come close to a signature club. Up until few months ago, there were never towels available when I went to the gym. The women's and men's sauna are functional about 25% of the time, the other 75% of the time the saunas are "getting fixed" or "they are waiting on a part"...Ever since the LA Fitness in Hyde Park closed, all the members from that facility now attend the signature club for the price of a non-signature facility and the gym is so PACKED...forget about working out chest or back on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.Not to mention that the customer service is GOD awful....The people that work at that facility do not know anything about customer service, 99% of the time they are sitting up front, talking and BSing...( isn't their job to greet people and be there to answer questions?)...Unfortunately there is LA fitness and then the $10/month other gyms.....I really wish there was another gym that can compete with LA fitness.
The staff here is a bit snooty. But the machines are great, lots of space. I'd recommend putting in more water fountains as there are only a couple.
Kids club is great! And so is all the gym staff. Everytime I'm at the gym they are cleaning - floors, equipment, windows. signature club has towel service too which is a plus. Lots of classes available and. Equipment seems well maintained. Their smoothie/ food station is open which is nice when I forget my pre-workout or want to eat afterwards. (Many locations I've been to this area is closed because it's a separately leased space).
For being a relatively new club it hasn't been maintained well; the hot tub and showers need to be cleaned much more often. Club always crowded from 4:30 - 8:30, closes at 8 on the weekend, parking garage is tight and a constant complaint from members. Have been a member of nearly 20 years including Lifestyles. When the Hyde Park club was closing I found out on the news, members were never notified and then a few flyers went up in the club. Today I talked to club manager about some issues and discovered I have been overpaying for my membership for some time. Both he and sales rep acknowledged it, but in order to get a lower rate I would need to fork over another $199. Also discovered new members are even paying less. This folks is how they treat long time members. Shameful. Please read some of the other reviews before signing up and save yourself a headache and money as it is like dealing with cable or cell phone companies. I cancelled and am looking for a new gym.
Followup 2 weeks later: Just signed up with a new gym with new equipment and paying 80% less. Basic membership, but why pay for things you don't ever use? Not a $600+/yr club despite the amenities. Plenty of new and better alternatives out there so shop around. I should send the manager with his nonchalant attitude a thank you card.
Large, clean facilities. The staff is great. Plenty of amenities like sauna, pool, jacuzzi, and a basketball court. They have a great selection of free weights and machines with plenty of cardio equipment downstairs. The parking is the only real downfall. There is a 4 level garage but with tight corners so be careful
Located in South Tampa. Overcrowded during the time everyone is leaving work. The equipment is kept up-to-date. There is a parking garage, which also gets crowded, therefore, difficult to find parking. The showers do not have shower heads. I do like that they provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The staff don't really engage, unless you're doing personal training. There is a bar inside that serves shakes and food.

I was trying to do some lunges upstairs in the main walking aisle of the weight room. This was difficult as the gym was crowded and people kept getting in the way. I decided to go into the personal training area to finish my lunges since the area wasn't occupied. Up walks some guy named Thaddeus who works there and he proceeds to not only interrupt me but tell me the empty area was only for personal training. I told him cool just give me five minutes to finish my lunges. He quickly became visibly upset and told me five minutes was unacceptable. He then moved closer to me and we were now face to face. He was trying his best to intimidate me. He walked away for a short period and came back for more. He got in my face again and told me my membership was now being revoked. I laughed at him.

I've been a member since the Signature club opened. I could tolerate the place when the Hyde Park club was open. Now that's not an option. At the Signature club, the bathrooms are frequently dirty and/or out of service. There is an extreme lack of customer service. The response to almost everything is "Call corporate." After being frustrated about almost everything -- the parking, the instructors, the filth -- I finally decided to quit last week. I learned that to quit you need to speak to one particular woman, who happened not to be there on the day I went in. That day, when leaving, a woman in the garage told me her car was just broken into -- broken glass everywhere. Five days later I am still trying to find this elusive woman to quit. Apparently, the club is closed for Irma -- hard to tell what the story is because of conflicting information on the website and the app. This club is so poorly managed, it's truly pathetic.
for a gym this size there is only one water fountain on the first floor and it barely works, water is usually warm. to much area is closed off for "personal training."

I don't understand the hoopla around this location and even why the membership there is more expensive than the other LA Fitness locations. I get it, they give you towels but I have been to other locations of LA Fitness that were not "Signature" (some of them in Sarasota/Orlando/Ft Lauderdale and Hartford) and they were much more clean and organized than the Dale Mabry Signature.
Lockeroom is a disgrace. No paper towels, no toilet paper, filthy floor and toilets. Some doors you can't even lock. They are broken.
If this is the only option to go to since the closing of the Hyde Park location ; than I'd rather never use LA Fitness gym's ever again. What a JOKE !!! They force you to upgrade and pay $160.00 and $10.00 more a month for an over crowded gym that you have to wait for equipment and the only difference is that they provide towel service that are shared through the community. I feel so good about paying for a towel service that have have been used on other people dirty bodies. At that price I can go to amazon and order an new towel almost everyday I go to the gym and throw it away.
