Good school with emphasis on individual training. I've wrestled in high school and I'm college and modt schools get caught up in certain individuals, thus slowing the progress of others.One on one instruction that shows application in real tournament competition. After only training for 4 months, I was able to medal at an out of town competition in Jacksonville.

Started this gym in November and I gotta say this is the best gym in tallahassee period. Shane is one of the best teachers you'll find that cares about you and your progression not only in bjj but in life. It's a great environment and in joining this gym you also join a big family who will welcome you with open arms don't get nervous everyone at this gym are great people!

If your looking for an old school Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and grappling academy in Tallahassee, this is the place. Some of the best training I have ever gotten didn't require locker rooms, AC or a schedule filled with irrelevant classes to make me feel like I was getting the most for my dollar , It was just with some mats and good training partners. That's what you get at WTMA , Good team mates, great coaches and some mats.
I enrolled my son in the kids class several months ago. I waited to post so I could get an honest assessment and provide an honest review. First, for me is that Shane (instructor/owner) cares about his people (notice I said people, not clients); he cares that they learn; you can tell he's not just out to get your money. Second, ego's aren't flying in this place. I've trained elsewhere, where it's a constant tension of ego's. Third, you aren't going to get a better deal for your money. Fourth, the kids program isn't a daycare; they really teach your kids. It is a very friendly environment; but, don't mistake this for weakness; the skill-set at this school is topnotch.

Shane often cares more about his students than his own well being and has done a great job creating a welcoming evironment that feels like a second home. Great place for both kids and adults wanting to learn self defense or just learn the art and strategy of jiujitsu.

I started bringing my high school freshman son over because one of his best friends comes here! He loves it and was welcomed and never made to feel like the new kid! All the people there are very welcoming and help each other learn. So now my older son, his girlfriend and other college classmates all go! They are learning so much.
