Aerial yoga was new to me last year, and I entered with lots of curiosity, and a good dose of caution. Denise was extremely thoughtful in the instruction she provided, and soon I was swinging in a delightful silken cocoon above the floor. Those of you who have used a rope wall in yoga, aerial is similar in that you are very supported in a pose, but the hammock of aerial provides not only great support, but also more freedom of movement. Instead of being held by the wall, the hammock is suspended from the ceiling. Going upside down is effortless, and you are securely tucked in by the hammock so you feel safe. It allows a less flexible person like me, to experience a more relaxed entry into the pose, and to feel a greater depth in the pose. Give it a try. And Denise and Karla at Yoga Moves are wonderful guides on your new journey.
