Good gym. Nastiest GM I've ever met! So bad that I'm about to write to corporate about her!!!
Wish they would close later atleast at 12pm would be great. Fridays close at 10pm which is early. With so many competitors opening 24hrs. LA FITNESS NEED TO OPEN LATER
Don't expect to be able to find any free weights. The patrons and staff have little concern with making sure to put things back where they belong.
One of my favorite gym to visit when I am in the area.. it has a lot of good equipments, and nice wonderful staffs.
Although it's a national chain so my observation will be in regards to the one location that I visited
I would say the place needs a little TLC
There was a Yoga instructor that was so advanced in his teachings that without proper understanding I highly recommend not taking the class. The other instructors are acceptable I am use to National Fitness, in my opinion, one of the best gyms on the planet
When you are looking for a fitness center make sure that the instructors are going to be keen on the safety of the students
We need more beginners classes at gyms so that it's more inclusive
ive been coming here since 2013 they have a very good variety of machines an weights.
i personally just dont like how they changed from circular style plates to octagon shaped but other then that i love it!
This place is a absolute mess. There are weights all over the floor. It's not a requirement to rack weights. I saw a guy literally toss a 15lb dumbbell because it was by a bench he was working on. Poor overall management and too crowded. Seems like everyday that ends with Y they have a open house for new members.

Huge gym. Great ppl actual working out and not just on phone.
Just had the most amazing fit test! Definitely do the plank test. I aced it!!! I also decided to become a member. Loving the customer service, go see Joni Vento.

I gave that 3rd star out of pure favoritism for L.A. fitness in general. This one is by far the most unorganized. Probably the most diverse clientele as well. Regardless of your religion, race,and political views, it's pretty universal..... You use weights? Put them away!! Someone should really have that as a job! That alone would be their workout!

Been my local spot for years. Older equipment but enough for everyone! Dumbbells are over the place but the people are all good.
Excellent zumba classes... The instructors Marcia and Alexaida are amazing, great class and great attitude!!!!

I not so much blame the staff, but a lot of the people that go to this gym. It's what you expect from most LA fits- a lot of disrespectful members that don't know how to put their weights back, SOCIALIZE for an inconsiderately long time on a machine or rack when they still have "2 more sets" (when they KNOW it's really busy? Yea, 15mins is PLENTY of time for Sally to get in a quick exercise while JOHNNY BRAVO sits and socializes for 15 full minutes before they finish their "2 more sets"), and literally have no sense of respect for another living human being of their kind. 1 star would be for the friendly staff, and 1 for the few gym members (usually only in the morning) that do not fall into the empty abyss of the remaining 3 NONstars above. The water fountains have cold water though which is nice, and their sauna really is the best.
I visited LA Fitness and there was NO SMELL in the Men's Locker Room as claimed by a previous reviewer. The entire gym is in good condition. The Men need to be nicer in the Locker Room like wiping the basins after each use. It is an incredible value and no pressure I travel a lot so I will seeing a lot of locations.
I love this gym. I have been many different gyms and even several different la fitness locations but hollywood is definitely the best
I have been working out at LA Fitness Hollywood for about 7 months. Before that I was a member at 24 Hour Fitness in Pembroke Pines. I regret making the move to LA Fitness. The only reason I Stay is that the gym is 10 minutes from my house, very convenient. The equipment maintenance program is horrible they only have 5 elliptical machines and usually none of them work properly. Weights are strewn all over the place. None of the members seem to re-rack their weights here, and the staff does nothing about it. I had to point out the situation with the elliptical machines to the staff after about 6 weeks of joining. Nothing happened for 60 days I had to bring it up two more times before it was addressed. The machines then work for maybe a couple of weeks, before again not functioning properly. 24-Hour Fitness is 10 times better. Again the only reason I Stay is cuz it's so close to my home. It is very clear that there is no equipment inspection program on a regular basis at this gym. For a national chain like this it's strange that they are able to stay in business this long.
Place is dirty and disorganized, always looking for cable machine equipment. I was told I had to bring my own ankle straps. Not worth the $32 a month

I made an agreement with the sales staff to sign up on a specific date and they deliberately and without prior notice stole the money from my account before the agreed date. demonstrating in this way that they are irresponsible and unreliable in terms of money.

I have been a LA member for several years. And I have taken EVERY instructors class here at this location. But I must say that on yesterday the 6:45 cycle class with Tweety was the BEST class I have EVER taken at this location. My suggestion.... PLEASE have him instruct MORE classes!! Had an AMAZING workout.

When I was going with my friend she told me her dad was paying $120 a month for a two person membership (don't know if that was true or her dad's form of motivation to go and use the membership) anyway the membership was canceled about a month later after she had to move away. So my dad went to check out the price of a membership with a guest and the employee he was talking to was very evasive and acte d very much like a car sales man and wasn't helpful at all and told my dad that the membership with a guest would be $40 a month. Then I went with my boyfriend after getting a fitnessyourway card online (a program with my insurance company blue cross blue shield which is fantastic and cheap might i add) which got me a membership here for $26 a month and when my boyfriend and I asked if I'd be able to bring a guest and the man at the desk instantly went into car salesmen mode and told my boyfriend it would be $40 a month for him (not including guest) and asked immediately after what day my boyfriend wanted to come in to get a membership set up which seemed very forceful and made us both uncomfortable so we left and didn't go back
This gym has lots of issues. The machines are either "scheduled for maintenance" and can not be used, or the ones that supposedly work make weird cranky noises and don't run smoothly. Half the equipment is old and just needs to be replaced. The free weights and plates are NEVER re racked and scattered throughout the gym in random places. Sometimes in the middle of the floor. Everytime I go to the gym a different weight machine is broken. What is up with this place? And the trash cans are usually over flowing with used paper towels.
Worst location ever! There's no customer service. They are nice when they want you to sign up front but after that the customer service is HORRIBLE! "Manager" Jacqueline refused to help me several times even when I asked to freeze my membership they charged me for the full amount! Horrible horrible! Do not go anywhere this gym
I never go by myself because I will find an excuse not to work out lol
This place has a lot to offer to a person, I'm happy with the machines I'm using.
If you work out right, you will feel it the next day for sure!
Not a lot of contact with the workers there, but then again, it's not rocket science.
You go, you work out and you go home :)
I recently canceled my membership due to many of the reasons suggested on this review page. When coming in to cancel I was greeted by Galen who is the assistant manager there. Not only did he listen to all of my concerns, he addressed them empathetically and did all he could to help me as well as listen to every word and suggestion. He is very aware of issues and seems to be making all efforts to address them. It is because of him that I left this good review. If you are thinking about signing up at this location make sure to see him, he's a really good guy and is there to make sure your experience is great. Thank you again Galen!
