Great low key atmosphere at this location. Never too crowded. Only thing that is inconvenient is there is No deadlift platform. The weight plates have flat sides like a octagon, which makes proper deadlift technique difficult to achieve for me.
I'm glad Just Move is open. Great upgrades. I'm disappointed that the amenities are not all available, but it will come in time.
The staff is nice and so is the equipment, but the constant construction and renovations are getting so old. I'm not saying this to be hyperbolic; I've been a member since I moved to lakeland in June of 2018, and since then i cant remember a period of more than 1 week where there hasnt been 1 part of the gym that hasnt been roped/taped off, whirring or other mechanical noises from power tools and other equipment, and, most recently, a mechanical lift that beeps like a semi truck that is backing up whenever it moves. If it isnt done and over with by the time crunch opens, I'm taking my business there.
This has been my favorite gym so far that I've worked out in within Lakeland. They are almost done with their renovations and I have to say they have come a long way from the set up that they had when I first stepped foot in this gym. Everything was extremely cramped together and equipment was set into very awkward spots, but with a full renovation like they have been under one has to expect that type of environment. A decent variety of hammer strength equipment and a fun and useful multi purpose area are what truly drew me to utilize this gym as my go to. I cant wait to see the finished product when renovations are completely finished.
The Just Move chain of gyms is a revamping of some of the Gold's lications. Don't quote me but I believe there are four of them with the Winter Haven location being the marquee. The South Lakeland location, which is the one I attend, has literally been under construction for the 3yrs I've been a member.
This is both good and bad. The positive aspect is that new equipment has been added. The negative aspect is that new equipment has been added.. and the machines that you're used to are gone without warning. You get into a flow and a routine and suddenly that machine is gone, or a certain piece of equipment has been relocated and you spend five mins walking around looking for bars or collars or handles etc. The feel and atmosphere is also changing as well with the free weight areas shrinking and being replaced with machines.
I guess there is no convenient way to remodel a gym, but this has been going on for years so it gets to be tiring at times. I think the staff is wonderful and I hold none of this against them. So consider this rating a snapshot of the present state of affairs at the South Lakeland location. If you attend a different location your mileage may very well vary.

I'm flabbergasted to know that some of the gym members can't stop themselves from stealing personal items. I have had two items stolen in the past 2 months. 1st my 100% leather belt. The belt was given to me by my first trainer over 25 years ago. I had forgotten it at other gyms metropolitan areas, where things like this can be expected. However, it was always returned to me at the front desk. Last Friday, I left my Abs' straps hanging on the bar. They were stolen. It seems that inmates at a correctional facility show more respect for private property than a couple of members at this gym. Obviously, some of the members of the Lakeland community don't know private property etiquette within a health Club. By no means this is a reflection of the wonderful people that work there or the majority of members that belong to this club. A couple of rotten apples can stink up the entire atmosphere. Going 4ward, I will GPS track my items in the event that someone takes them. I will know exactly how to recover them the legal way.
For a decent sized gym they have allot of different options with their packages. You can get unlimited tanning and they even have a juice bar.
Love my new gym! Relocated from Miami to Lakeland and Just move is a breath of fresh air.
$200 on collations. I when to the gym 5 times, and forgot about it after the hurricane hit and service was not being provided I didn't think I had to cancel. when collection company contacted me I thought it was a scam they said I own $200 to ALDOUS I was sure it was a scam till it show up on me credit report. I know is my fault for not cancelling, but If they cared about their customer at all at least they should of called before sending it to collection and how ethical it is to keep charging for a service you are not even providing.

Came here with the $21 summer sign up deal. I like the gym and using it, definitely getting results however the staff are just so damn rude. Took about a month before I was even acknowledged by a worker named Jayden (I even asked for his name). Then there's some overweight chick with blue eyes and brown hair with a complete attitude constantly nothing but huffing, dirty looks to customers. They're all on there phones most of the time, I don't even check in anymore and I tell my friends to come use the gym whenever they want because no one checks the front desk. I shouldn't of paid either just kept using it, probably wouldn't of gotten caught anyway since the staff is on their phones the whole time. I can tell management is nonexistent or doesn't care clearly. Now, I'll still use the gym because you get what you pay for I guess.

JUST MOVE OUT!! Be careful when you sign up. Once this Gym switched from Golds to "Just Move" they switch you to a 3rd party billing service. This service is boarder-line fraudulent. They refuse to cancel your service without a written letter, nor will the gym actually cancel your membership over the phone. I was a member for over 7 years then they hit me with all these additional fees. I called to settle the fees and close the account indefinitely and they refused to let me pay them by phone. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!!
This was a Golds Gym. Then the owner pulled out of Gold's gym so that he could better meet the needs of his customers. The gym is being renovated and is going from better to best!
This is a joke now. I am the primary account holder for me and my wife and when it was Golds or any other gym we could has "stress-free cancellation." Even here states that. However, it is a farce. You call to cancel and you are given a 1-888 number that is voice controlled and even ask what gym you are a member at. It is ABC Financial. Not Just Move. They handle their billing outside of house and make it impossible to cancel. Here you go. We pay $9.99 (yeah right) a month. Wanted to cancel. Couldn't due to contract until Dec 30. Told we could freeze. Froze. End of that charge 9.99 each then $32 for a "fee." That's each by the way. Called today to firmly cancel because I was pissed and just want to simply cancel. No more month to month but that WAS NOT stated at sign up. If it was, I would NOT have signed up. Now, I must pay a buyout of $49 x 2 along with an email 30 day notice of cancelling. Also says during that time I will be charged if comes on my due date. This is BS!!! I would and will NEVER tell anyone I know to go there or sign up. There are so many better options out there. Don't get hassled like us. Stress free cancellation my ass and I worked for a company awhile ago who we had a partnership when it was Golds and would send guests there all the time. No chance now.
I see a lot of complaining here, give me a break. It's a gym people sometimes things break, sometimes you may hire a dumb ass. But this place is great and Dave will always address any concerns anybody may have. They have started a lot of work inside to make this gym better for ALL who come here, upgrades / remodeling doesn't happen in one day. If you don't like it here then go somewhere else. But dont run your mouth about this gym just because equipment may be broke sometimes or what ever. Anyone thinking about signing up here and is serious about your health/ fitness then give it a try u will enjoy it here. Eric Ortman
MONEY SAVING TIP : DON"T PAY MORE THAN $9.99 IF YOU JOIN THIS CLUB BECAUSE $19.99 or even $29.99 GETS YOU NOTHING MORE THAN THOSE WHO PAY $9.99 because they don't control access to group classes like most gyms do. So here's the trick: Get to group classes early to claim your spot, and the suckers paying $29.99 will get turned away.
Once this place became "Just Move", it has gone right down the toilet. I signed on to pay $32 a month when it was Gold's. I asked to cancel my membership because I was moving to Sarasota. I was told to write down the reason for leaving and they would take care of it. Then I was charged again. Called back and they said I have to call their billing company. Billing company tells me that cancellation needs to be done in house. So, as you can imagine, I'm having a blast during all of this. Well, once "Just Move" took over, their base membership became $9.99 a month, while I'm still paying $32 a month for the same one they won't cancel. Now I have driven back to Lakeland. The front desk girl, bless her heart tried to make sense, but pleaded a bad case. She said we have to tell them if we want the lower priced membership or how would they know to do it...I'm sorry, I need to tell you I want to pay less money for a gym membership? Okay...so I did. I told her I want it cancelled, but definitely switch me to the lower price. Manager Jordan is always busy by the way. Another girl comes out. All I want is for someone to understand...I have cancelled this membership months ago...but you are still charging me...not only am I still being charged, I'm being charged a rate that does not exist and should only be $9.99. I'm told Jordan will call. Never did. Call back 7 days later. Jordan is busy and will call back. Never did. I call back 7 days after that, Jordan is busy and will call back. I called my bank to dispute charges and refund. Word of advice, DO NOT JOIN HERE! "Just move" to LA fitness and join them.
I just started. I came in for a 1 week trial. I have never worked out at a gym before. Somehow I signed something stating I'll pay $20 a month for a year. I'm unable to cancel it. I just wanted to try it out. Now I'm stuck paying whether or not I can go. This location doesn't have any of the things I'm supposedly paying for, movies, classes that work with my schedule, trainers that explain things to newbees like me.
I'm very disappointed.
Lots of promises when new management took over and sadly the gym has gone even further backwards. Machines, restrooms, lockers rooms tend to get no attention. Additionally, gotta love the front desk guy in the mornings who watches movies on his laptop and doesn't greet members.
Half of this gym is broken machines and old cruddy equipment. EVERYONE will tell you new and better things are coming, but no timeline and nothing has materialized. Cardio equip is ancient and disgusting. They need lots of new changes and fast or I will Just Move Gyms.

Class schedules have changed. Yoga classes are no longer being offered at the same time. Check schedules if you are thinking of joining. The front desk staff gave three different time frames (stories/lies) as to the schedule changing back. The "improvements" being made are definitely not for existing members. The lower price is attracting more members so why try to keep the existing members happy? Will be cancelling my membership ASAP. Check out other gyms before joining this one. During the past few months, AC has broken, restrooms are filthy and toilets have not worked. Several of us were hoping to see "improvements". To date, not impressed with Just Move. I will be just moving on to a new gym.
Good facilities though some of the equipment needs to be replaced. Friendly, helpful staff.
Great gym, friendly staff, huge variety of equipment & unlimited fitness classes. Definitely a great deal for trying to meet your fitness goals.
Been a member here for 15 years, love the place. So friendly and they were great when I had to put my membership on hold. Love the classes too. They also honor the silver sneakers program so that was perfect for my husband.
Love this place I walk in there bro love making conversation I get my workout in hang out at the bar afterwards customer service is awesome
