Good gym, but the owner is a thief. They "bought" out my contract from my old gym that went out of business. I guess that means its okay for them to charge me without contacting me AND they charged me at a higher rate than the price they advertise. Join this gym if you like being lied too and cheated. Otherwise, stay far away.

Great place, expect for false advertising on the website. The owner, Joe is nice- however when I asked him about the advertised free guest pass on the website.-- his response didn't make sense. I ended up paying $10 anyway.
Used to love going here and then unfortunately they stopped child care and I had to join a different gym. And all was well except now I'm getting calls from debt collections saying I owe $80, I know I paid the $20 cancelation fee same day I joined new gym. Nobody called me saying I missed a payment or anything. Just a call from a collector almost a year later. Now I am getting bullied to pay or it will show up as a refusal on my credit report. I don't like threats. I still have same phone number and I filed change of address. There was no reason for this to happen to me and I'm writing a 1 star review because people should know this could happen to you here.

Always loved working out at gulf coast fitness. They are always improving the quality of equipment and the atmosphere. Clean locker rooms and bathrooms and low membership costs.

This is an old school style gym. They have all the cardio equipment, machines and weight racks oh and saunas. I actually couldnt find a better price than this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the gym is always kept clean. Even the atmosphere is different...people actually come to workout instead of text while taking over machines. It's never crowded when i come either , which is another plus. The only thing is the location is a little hard to find. You'll have to go down a side street next to the gas station on crystal drive.

the staff is polite. there are times where members leave weights too heavy for me to remove or they do not clean off equipments. that bothers me. The prices are fair. I wish the women's locker room had a steam room or that we could have access to the one in the men's- separate entry, separate hours. I like steam much better than a sauna.

I've been going here for about two years now. This gym is usually pretty slow around when I go (unless its Chest Monday) which is a quality I like. They're quick to repair broken machines, the staff is great, and I can see that my annual gym maintenance fee (like $60 bucks once a year) actually gets used to improve the gym. I see myself staying a member for quite some time.

Been a member since it's was golds gym. This place had its ups and downs but seems to be improving over time. They've added a supplement shop and recently renovated the racquetball room after Hurricane flooding. Good to know our annually maintenance fee actually goes towards improvements. I originally joined for the sauna and steam room and came to realize that this is the best gym for the price and location! The staff are always very welcoming and helpful.
A few tips: bring your own towel, and gloves if you're lifting heavy. And if you're going to cancle make sure you do it a month in advance!

Solid place with best rates I've ever seen. $12 bucks a month with every kind of work out machine you would need. Full service front desk plus health bar for supplements. Racquet ball, dancing and yoga classes. Best gym in Fort Myers. Enjoy
I personally love this gym with the low membership fees, very amazing staff and the equipment is awesome. I've been to all kinds of gyms around this area and this is by far my favorite and I'm there 6 days a week because of all these things.
If I could give this place a zero, I would. Customer service is poor and lacking and it would seem the membership system is a failing quite a few people. I followed the protocol that was told to me on the day I cancelled my membership. Filled out the form and was told my last month would be $19. Cool. Now I'm being harassed for $96 (which no one seems to be able to explain) for Pure Fitness in Fort Myers. So like any logical person, I call to try and figure out what was going on. Not only do they not have record of my cancellation, which is convenient, the employee I spoke with to try and get and understanding of what was going on was super rude and hostile. He talked over me the entire time, wouldn't listen when I explained that I had a employee signed copy of a cancellation form. When I asked for an email I could send a copy of the form to, he responded with "IF someone gets back to you..." If? Does Joe not check his email? As the owner does he not care to try and figure what's going on at his gym? This employee also went so far as to lie about his name being Mark. (I called back to verify Joe's/Pure Fitness email address to send my copy of the cancellation form to and was told no one by the name of Mark worked there.) You guys have got to be better people. Customer service is lacking. I now have to try and find a cancellation form from 6 months ago and deal with the head ache that is Gulf Coast Fitness. Do yourself a favor. Just don't. I'm sure there are other gyms in the area that are far more responsive and organized. You get what you pay for.

They would get 5 stars if they update the equipment. Treadmills need replacement... they get 5 stars now. Recently updated some equipment
