AVOID THIS GYM!!
I had a very serious issue with Anytime Fitness at 2354 Surfside Blvd in Cape Coral that other people should be aware of.
I cancelled my membership in person and returned my key fob directly to an employee/manager. I was clearly told my membership would be cancelled. Despite doing everything correctly, the gym continued to charge my account anyway.
Over the following year, I had multiple conversations with staff and managers explaining that I had already cancelled. Nothing was fixed.
On April 20, 2026, a manager told me he would resolve everything, remove the charges, and call me back the next day. That never happened. No call. No refund. No resolution.
Instead, they escalated...
What makes this worse is that they can easily verify the truth:
I have not used the gym after cancelling
Their own access logs and cameras would confirm I cancelled and returned my key fob
Despite this, they continued billing me.
This is not just poor customer service — it is a failure to properly process cancellations and correct billing errors even after repeated notice.
If you join this gym, get everything in writing. Do not rely on staff telling you your membership is cancelled.
I had been working VERY hard so I thought, until Jesse helped me with a different workout , He coached me through every step, motivated me to the finish! I was about to give up. Before him, my results were low, then he introduced me to an incredible workout and inspired me to push myself, but to not give up and cares about my goals and wants to see me achieve them....He truley has passion for helping others. If you have not tried him as your personal coach......please do.....you will be happy you did!!!!!

Anyone that posts that this gym is creating bait and switch is out of line. There is no such thing her, as I've been a member for 4 years and the one jerk stating what was mentioned as a bait and switch is a fool. The only thing extra is a yearly maintenance fee of sometimes $15.00. This is done at the end of year usually, so to the individual making false statements, maybe try working out instead of being a drama queen.
Good gym, equipment is well maintained and nice and clean, trainers are helpful and friendly, wish the same could be said for the manageress, she can't even be bothered to greet guests, really bad attitude ,very unhelpful and should perhaps not be working there, gives the place a bad vibe!
This location is very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. All the equipment is well maintained with a lot of choices. Nice floor plan layout.

My comment is based upon the number of Staff in different facilities and the equipment that is available for members to use. I have to give a very neutral rating on Anytime Fitness. One that I think is outstanding is one on College Parkway just over the Cape Coral Bridge going into Fort Myers.

Nice equipment and convenient. However, the trainers they let use the joint are going to get someone hurt though. I watched a young female trainer work out two older ladies (60 +)separately, like they were in their twenties, not good at all and shows a lack of experience with physiology.
