I'm not actually a reviewer but oh well, here I am.
This gym itself, nothing to complain about.
My problem was, when I enrolled on their program I specifically told the lady that I was going to move soon If I would have a problem with this. She told me that with proof of moving, I shouldn't have any.
Less than 5 months later, I'm moving. I called in to ask what documents they needed and the guy told me they didn't need any because they would charge me anyway for the cancellation fee because I'm moving less than 25 miles away from on of their locations. (Specifically 16.5 miles away) He told me this is CT law and it's written on the contract. After reading, yes it is. But who already enrolled (at least recently) knows that they enroll you on an iPad and they don't "let" you read, they just keep asking you to sign on a small box. But again I mention that I asked her specifically about the moving and she told me it would be no problem. But now it was. Like I'm really thinking about commuting 30 minutes on a rush hour (because I'm a full time employee) to go to their "awesome" gym when I can go to one 5 minutes away from my house.
But, if you are willing to be stuck in a place for one year this is an ok place.
Great gym, full range of equipment from free weights, machines and a wide variety of aerobic machines. This location has a 1/16 mile walking/running track. Plenty of room to workout even during peak hours. 24 hour availability to members. Basic membership is $10, go to $30 for all the amenities including classes. I have the basic which gives me access 24 hours and to all the equipment. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of locker room space. All areas are clean and members seem to have respect for the space. My only complaint, which drops it one star, is the showers. Although very clean, the plumbing and fixtures need a serious upgrade. Most work but not as well as they should. For many, this is not an issue.
This is a great Health and Fitness club with fantastic personal trainer's!

I've been a member since Catalyst opened the Middlebury location. I had been a member of the previous owners of this location for about 20 years - Ballys and then Blast Fitness. This is such a great place to work out and I look forward to every time I can visit. It's completely remodeled, clean, and lots of new equipment. I had a personal trainer at Catalyst for about a year and benefited so much from that.

Awesome Health club. I love it. Cardio machines, work out machines, free weights, owners and staff are all great.

Ok gym but I've Been coming here for 7 months and there's never any hot water in the showers.
Been going to this gym for a month, even signed up for a few sessions with a personal trainer and it's been a really good experience. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the locker rooms are nice. Some days get a little crowded but it's not been a problem as most equipment frees up quickly and the other customers at the gym are friendly as well. The gym makes good use of the space it has, there's plenty of room to walk around the equipment. There's also a fitness class schedule, of which I tried spin class and yoga and had a good time at both.

Catalyst is my jam! I love the facility and staff, super clean and sanitary.

I've been coming here for almost 2 years and haven't had a problem. They have updated the gym consistently since I've joined and it looks really nice. Everyone I've run into has been respectful and friendly. Definitely the best gym in the area.
