My critique of this facility will be multi-faceted but succinct. This gym is, in short, rather tragic. Problems exist with the music, implementation of sanitary practices, and overall management.
First, the music. The music that is played at this location is white-washed and bland. Often Country music will be playing or sad "white pop-culture" songs. In general, the music that is played here would not be enough to motivate someone to get out of bed. Consequently, when hearing these dismal tracks, one is left with a feeling of emptiness and existential pain that cannot be soothed. Anytime hip-hop featuring a new artist plays, it is quickly changed. I do not know what is happening here but it seems as though this location may be intentionally white-washing the music despite the gym's very diverse member base.
Second, there are huge failings in sanitary practices. There has been nothing but water in the spray bottles for several weeks now. One does not need an advanced degree in microbiology from MIT to know that water does not kill bacteria on surfaces. Gyms are known to harbor nasty bacterial due to the amount of people that use the equipment. Thanks for giving me water to deal with staphylococcus.
Lastly, the management of the gym is laughable. I have already mentioned the inability to buy proper cleaning liquid. That is only the beginning. Equipment remains broken for weeks and is not usable. There has been no manager at the gym for some time now. The last manager quit after maybe 2 months. Before that, there was no manager for a while either. Now, there is no manager to speak to after 3:00 pm which makes addressing any real problems at night impossible.
To wrap up, this gym is a dysfunctional, poorly run, garbage can fire. If you do not care about that go to this gym. However, if what I said bothers you, there are plenty of options in Stratford.
