I found The Bar Method in 2011- I had just turned 30 and was half-way through my doctoral program. My 20's were full of fad diets, glamorous workouts, and no matter how hard I worked, how many calories I burned, or how little I ate, my weight always fluctuated between 125 (my BEST) and 154 (my heaviest). Hello Bar Method! It's been 9 years and I have NEVER been stronger, leaner, more toned, and healthier. From day one/class one- when I trembled out the studio thinking there is no way I could ever do it again, to conquering my 100th, 500th, and now I'm 58 classes away from my 1,000th class. It truly never gets easier, but you just keep getting stronger. The teachers and staff are so inspiring as is the community of individuals that The Bar Method attracts. When my legs cramped from walking during my pregnancy, The Bar Method was there- increasing my stamina, endurance, strength- everything I needed to have a successful pregnancy, delivery, and recovery. I have maintained my weight (114 lbs) for the past 8 years. It hasn't been easy making sure that I attend classes, but the motivation to push myself, interact with my workout family/community, and to feel a sense of strength and accomplishment is incredible. Hands down the BEST WORKOUT EVER!
