SO worth it! I would give 10 stars if that was an option. If you have never tried dry needling, do not expect a spa service. Dry needling is painful and pretty uncomfortable, especially the first time. However, Galye (AKA the most amazing PT on the planet) changed my life! I no longer suffer with chronic pain and I'm down to nearly no migraines after struggling with them since I was in my teens (I'm now in my 30s). Gayle is honest, kind, ethical, a great communicator and will try to treat your problem in as little time as possible (to save you money). She gets it!
Let me give you a little background. As I said before, I have struggled with migraines since I was in my teens. When I get one, I'm out of commission for the rest of the day. I just learned to deal with it.
Then in 2015, I got in a car accident that caused me pain I have never experienced before. I couldn't get out of bed for 2 weeks due to intense back pain in my upper right side/shoulder/rib area. I immediately started seeing a chiropractor, because I thought that's what you do. They treated me with adjustments and massages for a year and a half. I spent thousands of dollars. My migraines got exponentially worse. We joked around about my "monster knot" in my shoulder that would never go away. I still had chronic pain that I felt 24 hours a day. I had to change my entire lifestyle to accommodate my limited state. I had to give up a lot of exercise/sports activities that I loved. I travel often and my back made this very complicated and painful. I could no longer sleep on my stomach (my favorite position). And I would still have "flare ups" a couple of times a year that the chiropractor could not explain. They thought maybe I had a rib that was dislocating. I would be out of commission for a week or so every time one of these happened. It would be incredibly awful if this happened when I was out of town and had to find last minute medical care. After my final flare up, I ultimately went to an MD to see if they thought I should be doing something differently. Clearly the chiropractor wasn't working. They suggested I go to a PT and gave me a list. I decided to look at my own list from yelp or places nearby. I couldn't be more thankful that I found/picked Gayle after researching a few.
It's a pleasure just to have met such a wonderful human being, much more that she was able to take away pain that I thought I had to accept that I would have for the rest of my life. I wish I had heard of dry needling earlier. I haven't had a massage in 6 months! I used to feel terrible if I didn't have one at least 1x a mo. It's kind of like getting a massage from this inside out, that doesn't feel good in the moment (like a massage), but then is worth the few moments of discomfort for long-term pain relief. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to Gayle for any kind of pain. It's worth trying before going through the long term with unexplained pain, wasting thousands of dollars or even going through with surgery! I sent my husband to her for the pain that he thought he needed surgery for in his arm from pitching (baseball). She has helped him and she can probably help you!
