This morning, I went to talk to one of the owners about signing up for their "free" six week challenge. This challenge is not free, it is more like a no risk guarantee, because you DO have to pay an amount and you will receive it back at the end of six weeks if you choose not to join, or you can join and pay a certain amount every week. This caught me off guard, but I was still excited to try, until I told Felix that I had to speak with my husband about finances. First he told me to "just do it." And that if I have to "ask permission"I am in trouble. He continued by comparing me and my financial situation and the situations of other clients as they arrived for their classes. He continued to bullying me into setting up a membership by telling me that I was going to gain back all of the weight that I had lost on my own if I didn't join the "community".
When that didn't work, he started to compare me to the size of other clients. He talked about how big some of them were in a mocking tone.
Although the idea of having childcare in the same building and the idea and concept of the workouts are wonderful, I will not be spending my money to support a man who bullies people and treat people like they are unimportant. I don't think women should go and talk to this man and be treated as less than or manipulated into giving them their money just have a fun time working out and losing weight. This abuse is not something that I am willing to tolerate, and I want to let other women know that it is out there so they can avoid it.
