I first tried Bikram yoga almost 20 years ago and it was obviously the thing for me, because I have been a fairly consistent practitioner since then. When I started, my body was fairly worn out and injured: Bad knees and ankles, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, sore back and neck. Going to Bikram yoga cured all of that and pretty quickly. I have found, though, that this particular practice is a gift that continues unfold. The psychological and immune system benefits are wonderful. I practiced Bikram 5 times a week when I was pregnant with my daughter and had NO adverse pregnancy symptoms. Now that I'm older, it helps me regulate my menopause symptoms, which is a benefit to everyone! I am noticing as I get older that I am able to maintain mobility and strength above the level of my peers.
I encountered Denver Bikram yoga studio only
about a month ago when I was visiting with my
father in my home town. This studio is really one of the most pleasant I've ever experienced: A beautiful shining star of a yoga studio. The locker rooms are gorgeous. The staff well-populated and kind and diverse and interesting. The yoga room itself has sunny windows and inspiring practitioners all
around. Denver is LUCKY to have such a lovely
Bikram studio still in operation. If I lived nearby I
would be there every single day!
