I just started pole and I've only taken one class at Boulder Spirals, so feel free to caveat everything I say with that lens. I honestly don't know how to quantify the skill of the instructors because of my complete lack of ability so I won't try. I started pole because I'm getting married soon and I thought it would be a cool wedding gift for my fiance if I could pole dance for him during our honeymoon. I was pretty uncomfortable about the idea at first because I'm a fairly introverted person and I am super conservative about who gets to see my body and when. That said, attending this class quickly put me at ease. My instructor was Sasha Viers who is a beautiful, sweet, tiny Asian woman. She really seems to know her stuff! Furthermore, the workout left me pretty sore for a whole day (so if you're trying to gain muscle, this is a great option!). I would highly recommend Sasha. There were a couple things about the studio I wasn't super fond of (none of which were the people). Firstly, the whole studio reeked of pot when I got there. It was pungent enough that my fiance could smell it on me when I got home and I had to go take a shower. The second thing I wasn't overly fond of is how dark the studio was. The studio was dark because as night fell, Sasha didn't want anyone to be able to easily see in (which completely makes sense and I was very grateful for her consideration!), but it did change the atmosphere of the class. I would have honestly preferred that she just close the windows and turn on the lights. I was a little worried that all pole dancing studios would follow this general pattern, but I figured I'd try one more just to see. I tried out Vertical Fusion (which is fairly close) and it was actually quite different. The first difference is laid out right in their policies: they do not tolerate drugs or alcohol or anything which may inhibit performance. Consequently, when I got there, the place smelled quite clean. The second difference is that it was much brighter. It felt like a yoga studio. At any rate, I also liked the people at Vertical Fusion, so I'm probably going to attend classes there instead.

I started taking pole dance with Sasha Viers when I was 58. I was searching for some type of dance class where I didn't feel intimidated and where I could be challenged and feel successful. Sasha created a class just for a couple of us ladies in our 50s (which we were so grateful!)
This has been the hardest most challenging physical thing I have ever done and by far the most empowering and FUN! Sasha is a stickler for safety and form and has kept us free of injuries. And yet she finds a way to keep pushing us to the next level even if we don't think we can do it, she believes in us! This one hour a week keeps me sane. When I walk into that studio, all of my worries and cares dissipate and even my aches and pains subside. The lighting is so flattering (especially to us older gals!) and the space just feels safe. Now after two years, I can't believe the things that I can do. Climbing, lay backs, leg hangs, spins, etc. I also decided to be brave and take the Aerial Hammock class! Sasha made that so much fun and very challenging. I feel so grateful that I found Sasha and Boulder Spirals.....it has enriched my life more than I can say!

( I am writing this under my husbands account f.y.i) This studio, and the teachers in it have honestly changed my life. I was so scared the first class...by the end of it I was hooked. Not only is it a safe, comfortable, fun and uplifting environment, it's a workout like none other! I already feel myself getting back into my early 20's shape and I am just so happy I found this place. Sasha is a class act and goes above and beyond to keep the class fun yet structured.

I LOVE this place! All of the instructors I've had are so dedicated and absolutely love what they do. Everyone emphasizes on proper technique and safety which I appreciate as a detail-oriented person! I never felt judged or looked down on, even amongst other students. If you're skeptical about trying, I say go for it! You're in good hands with Boulder Spirals :)

The first aspect that drew me to Boulder Spirals was the friendliness of the teachers who invited me. And their friendliness never wore off! It's a comfortable atmosphere to be in when in class. From day one to owning my own pole, Boulder Spirals staff has been there to support and encourage me. I would recommend this to any woman who desires to improve fitness, confidence, flexibility, and balance. A beautiful sport indeed!

Simply: Boulder Spirals is the best thing that has ever happened to Boulder.
I decided to try pole fitness and dance after some deliberation, (mostly because of stigma and not knowing what to expect), and after my first class, I found what would be one of the best things to happen to me! Boulder Spirals is a fun, non-judgmental, welcoming, HOME!
The studio itself is beautiful and inviting. Sasha (owner and instructor), as well as all of the instructors, are encouraging, fun, and down to earth.
I have gained confidence, muscle, happiness, and friends :)

It's an incredible work out, great for all body types. No strength? No flexibility? No problem! The beautiful women at Boulder Spirals help you achieve your goals!
If you are hesitant, stop! And go online and sign up for a class. I guarantee you will love it!
I already go 4+ times a week and look forward to each class :
