i have experienced Lisa's work and her detailed eye. She had me walk on the treadmill and across the room and video taped my gait and saw several things that I was unaware of that were producing imbalances in my spine and joint structure. As a chiropractor of 33 years I was highly impressed with her knowledge and skill in analysis and treatment of the human frame.

I've worked with trainer Lisa Citeralla. She is so amazing. Her knowledge of body mechanics is so impressive. I worked with her to make sure I had
proper form for the class Body Pump. Body Pump moves quickly from one exercise to another, and I wanted help with my form and the fast transitions. Lisa corrected my form and also gave me options to alter the exercises to accommodate me and how my muscles function. Additionally, Lisa has a massage therapy license. Again, because she understands body mechanics so well, she can massage your body with very specific end goals in mind. Definitely give Lisa a call to chat about your own goals, and go see her!

Sam runs an amazing gym. If you are new to resistance training, recovering from an injury, or just looking for a small private gym to get your workout in, this is the place for you. The personal trainers are knowledgeable and experienced. They have in house massage and physical therapists. If you are tired of big box gyms and are ready to upgrade your workout this is the place for you. It is always spotlessly clean, the staff is friendly and attentive, and if you need personal training or physical therapy they have you covered.

The staff here provides a personal training routine for each client. I found their advice very useful and the exercises they gave me are working wonderfully.

I have had two sessions with Sam and really enjoyed his insights and capacity to think outside the box. His is not a one-size fits all and has a very individualized approach to training. Sam is very observant and intuitive. I look forward to continuing my work with him.

I just had my first personal training session ever, and it was with Alex at Functional Fitness. She made the experience fun, but also gave me a good challenge! She explained and demonstrated all the exercises and motivated me to complete each set. Alex was motivating and let me help structure how I wanted to spend my hour. I would highly suggested using FF for your individual training needs!

Sam Iannetta has established the most unique fitness center and staff in Boulder. Their approach is different and more effective than any you might have previously experienced. Years of research and training have resulted in programs which are extremely effective in their desired objective: to make you stronger and more effective in all your daily tasks. His staff is a mirror image of his expertise, compassion, concerns and approach. They are all committed professionals who take extreme pride and care for all of their respective clients, their well being and their progress. My personal trainer, Will LeBeuff, took a personal interest in my physical development and health challenges as a dear friend. I will always be grateful for all of my interactions with him. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone seeking something different and better than anything previously experienced.

Sam at Functional Fitness taught my husband exercises to do regularly that literally saved him from weeks of back trauma each year (it used to go out about 3 times a year and he had to stop working for a week at a time). Its been 3 years and its has never gone out again. I, personally, got the lucky chance to work with Alex for about 6 months who has helped me transform back into a strong, high-energy mommy. The vibe there is relaxed and wonderful, and the depth of knowledge unmatched.

After doing some research on local fitness clubs and personal trainers, I found Functional Fitness and signed on. Sam is an amazing workout coach, and I love his sensible, long-term fitness approach to making sure I not only get into shape, but that I have the long term tools to stay in shape. I love the small, quiet, unobtrusive environment, the personal one-on-one attention, and the general vibe - it's a place where people come to get better about their bodies...it's a serious "wellness" place, where people work to get better...with seriously dedicated and informed staff to support them. It is NOT some mega-fitness-outlet with thousands of machines where whey-guzzling over-athletic egos go to socialize while dishing out tons of unwanted overhead costs and vitamin cottage advice. Fitness is a lifetime proposition, and for someone with spinal fusion surgery (like me), this means a knowledgable and careful approach that won't endanger my spine, while focusing on losing weight and building strength, and staying fit for the rest of my life. I'm working with Sam to "put my body right" over the long run. I'm really lucky to have Functional Fitness in my back yard, and to have found such a supportive group of caring and outstanding professionals to help me recover and change my life around. I love this place.

Before working with Sam and his team, I suffered from a myriad of back, hip, and shoulder issues. These are now a thing of the past with my twice a week sessions. I would highly recommend Functional Fitness to anyone who values a scientific approach to heath and fitness.

Melissa helped us in our marathon training, and continues to build our strength and flexibility to keep us powerful and injury-free. Functional Fitness, itself, is a non-threatening, low-key workout space, well-equipped and spacious, with the focus on the individual. We feel lucky to have found it.

I've been going to Functional Fitness for over 4 years now. What a great find. Kaitie has been my trainer for the entire duration and she is fabulous! I've worked with a couple of other trainers & therapists at FF and they each have their own strengths. I love that it isn't rows of treadmills and stationary bikes. There is an amazing variety of equipment packed into a personal sized gym. Sam runs a great gym!

I am a CU Boulder Student and I have been working with Sam for the past 6-7 months. His knowledge, skill and personality is unmatched by any coach or trainer I have ever worked with (I played basketball my entire life). My overall athleticism, strength and health has improved greatly over my time working with him and he has taught me many important life lessons along the way. Our sessions are insightful, I work hard, and I learn something new every time, he is more than just an athletic trainer - he is a mentor and friend. If you want to improve your physical health, learn how to properly train your body and have quite a few laughs along the way there is no one better than Sam.
