TLDR; Radiance is the best! If you're ready to make some positive changes in your life, come in and meet Dey.

This place is the greatest! "Not your Ordinary Crossfit Gym" is the slogan; it's true for all the best reasons. Radiance sheds all the stereotypical criticisms of a Crossfit gym: none of the crazy gym bros, none of dangerous flailing movements, none of the rep at all costs mentality just clean, wholesome, well thought-out fitness. Coach Dey has built an incredible fitness community of truly awesome people where there is still extreme intensity if you seek it, but it's tempered by a zealous focus on technique, rehab, and a pursuit of your own excellence.

I have been working out off and on since high school, but had always struggled with the normal "globo" gyms. It was also so tough to stay motivated, push myself, and most importantly figure out useful and helpful programming. I had always been interested in what Crossfit had to offer and spent about a year at a more traditional Crossfit gym out of state before I moved into the South Bay area and had some pretty mixed results. I was stronger and in the mindset of HIIT workouts, but I struggled with injuries, weight, and motivation. I didn't really feel like I fit in with the community and no one really seemed to care if I showed up or not. After meeting Dey and spending a couple weeks regularly attending classes I knew I had to stick around; the atmosphere and attitude towards fitness was so refreshing. Every single member athlete is super friendly and supportive. A year later I'm more than 20lbs lighter, I've healed and been able to move beyond a number of injuries (knee, shoulder, neck, and back) that I though would always hinder me, I have competed in a competition, and I am stronger than ever!

Coach Dey is an exceptional human being. He pours his blood, sweat, and tears into every part of all of our fitness journeys; he gives back 10 fold whatever you put in. He puts in so much time, effort and energy into both his new and returning members each day, if you're ready to make some positive life changes all you have to do is show up and jump in. Dey applies a truly holistic approach to fitness addressing psychology, diet, mobility, technique, strength, and lifestyle. He's an excellent diagnostician, drawing on years of diligent study and working through his personal physical experiences. He has a wealth of knowledge not just of how to lift weights, but as someone who understands that resistance training is a means of diagnosis areas of weakness. He can then use that data to help individuals work on their weaknesses; be it injuries, flexibility, technique, or mental roadblocks. He is a great teacher and will spend the time to truly educate you on what he's seeing and his ideas on how to correct and improve. His enthusiasm and positivity, his attention to detail, his endless personal research and testing, and his natural coaching ability have pushed me way further than I thought I could without ever feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.

If every gym was this awesome, a whole lot more people would get out and get healthy and fit. A whole world of pain-free fitness and healthy lifestyle has been opened up for me. I am so incredibly motivated to keep seeing where this journey takes me.

This gym is the best place I know to better your health in so many ways. Dey (coach and owner) has an incredible knowledge of the human body and the best methods we have today to improve it. If you are hoping to lose fat, put on muscle, or heal an injury (or injuries), Dey will get you on the path to do exactly that. Just show up, follow his guidance, and repeat.

What you get with each class is the genius of well-programmed CrossFit workouts, combined with the rare and valuable implementation of targeted body mobility/recovery excercises - stretching, "rolling-out" and "flossing" your muscles, etc. You'll use some tools that you've probably never seen before, but are without doubt extremely effective.

I believe anyone could greatly benefit from the expertise Dey offers and the energizing mentality which is cultivated in this gym. Whether young or old, beginner or advanced, injured or in great shape. Dey's approach to achieving maximum health/fitness is one that every coach and physical therapist could learn from.
