One of my favorite gyms: the staff are polite and attentive; good atmosphere; clean, well-kept equipment; the people are willing to be friendly - but also get a workout in - and have a decent range of experience so that you're inspired - without being ashamed. It's is in a complex that contains a hospital and a retirement apartment complex, so it has a high amount of people who are at or approaching retirement age. (It also has a decent mix of people in their 20's, 30's, 40's.) This population makes it much more chill (and clean, and better kept) than the other local gym I've been to, 24. If you're just starting out, pick this gym. Seriously, pick this gym.
Costs $39/month, offers 3 day tryout. States this clearly on their website.
Provides cardio ~6 treadmills, 7 ellipticals, 6 bikes, 2 rowing machines; 2 squat racks (1 track-locked, 1 not); 1 dip rack; 1 ab incline; 2 free-weight benches; 1 bench-press bench; range of free-weights (1lb-~80lb's); barbells (10+); sundry weight machines, rollers, yoga mats, balls, ropes, etc. I.e., while you might have trouble if you go during the rush hour from ~4-6, it is generally easy to get through your workout with only occasional adjustments. They offer yoga + aerobic, dance, etc. classes (look on their website). You get 1 class & 1 training session upon starting (along w/ whatever temporary deal they're offering, if one is going on, like a massage, backpack, water bottle). Note that you can go to any of their classes as many times as you want on the last day of every month.
