I have taken classes at all the major spin studios in town and appreciate them for different things. With Cycle House, I work with more resistant in a boot camp/workout style and I like the filtered water, the iced towels, and the fruit-----very nice luxurious touches. The cons--it's not as nice studio wise as it's competitors, the equipment isn't as good. One of their high profile/senior teachers there in maybe the last time I attended spent his entire time instructing the individuals in the front row (I think at least some of them might have been in the instructor training program), but it was like his class was not there. That was not a good experience. Then, one of the cheap bikes had a pedal break. I was going to not make a big deal out of it and keep going and hop on another free nearby bike but came to find out that pedal was stuck in my cleat. I had to go outside of the studio to see it to get it out (studio was very dark). Throughout all of this, the instructor never even bothered to step back and check what was going on ( I don't think I've ever been to an exercise place of any kind where a teacher doesn't check out you when you leave the studio to make sure you're not having a medical issue). At the end, I got it out, finished on another bike and I never got any apologies from anyone or even an offer of a comped class. Really bad customer service in that sense which is sad because while I used to go here a lot I'd rather spend more $$ elsewhere.
