The kickboxing and powerfit classes are challenging enough to continually build strength, balance, and flexibility without being overwhelming or unaware of our personal level of fitness. The instructors are fun, knowledgable, and encouraging. I have never had instructors that cared so much about encouraging participants to listen to our own bodies and back off when a move was painful or out of their ability. They still pushed us to complete the workouts and increasing our strength. I feel great after each class and no two classes have been the same.

Highly recommend! I did the KUT 6 weeks program and was so happy, not only with the results but also with the support and guidance I received throughout the challenge. The staff and instructors are all friendly, supportive and professional. Now, after finishing the 6-weeks, I continue to improve my technics and keeping healthy and in-shape thanks to MAFF SB.

Love this place! All staff/coaches are super helpful and knowledgeable; they want you to succeed and meet your goals. Throughout the KUT 6 week program, I've lost 15 pounds and 4% of my body fat. Thank you MAFF!!

My 4 and 8 year-old sons attend the Little Ninja and Dragon classes at MAFF. This is a school that really cares about family and character formation. There are a couple of things I particularly like about MAFF:

1) Belt promotion for kids is tied to good behavior at home and school. Parents and teachers must agree that the child has been meeting the desired standard in order to promote, which ties in an element of personal responsibility rather than just athletic performance.

2) Ethical behavior is stressed: classes tie in lessons about courtesy, integrity, perseverence, self-control, and having an indomitable spirit (always fun to hear 4 year-olds say that last one). Additionally, MAFF holds annual service events that kids can participate in. My kids loved delivering Thanksgiving baskets of food to families in need this last year.

3) It is run by a family, for families. MAFF is extremely family friendly, and not so focused on tradition that is throws out understanding of the developmental stages of children.

Beyond this, the instructors are all great, as is the quality of instruction. My 8 year-old has greatly increased in focus and self-esteem since beginning classes, and my 4 year-old follows directions better and even occasionally gives me a resounding "Yes sir!" (still working on the ma'am). I never hear complaints about them not wanting to attend class. I highly recommend MAFF if you are considering training for yourself or your children.

I have been part of the MAFF Family for about 7 years and I love how everyone is very supportive. I am hispanic and feel so loved by everyone. I felt very uncomfortable at first due to my race but through out time you start feeling more loved there and part of a loved family. There treat every equally and with respect. I really recommend this place and truly love it.

I am a Black Belt at MAFF and am very grateful to have such a nice friendly, safe place to work out. Not only am I very fit and healthy from going there for so many years I also have a social life which has benefited me a great deal. I am 51years old and many people are shocked when they find out as I seam much younger. I can not say enough good things about my school. We have all ages and abilities there. The teachers are all very kind and professional. My life has changed since becoming a Black Belt and since going to the exercise classes.

Martial arts family fitness is probably the best gym i have ever been to. I actually look forward to getting up and going to the gym, the people are great the workouts are fun and I've lost over 20 pounds doing their fitness classes.

We have been part of the MAFF Family for years! My husband and I have done the KUT program with great results. Also, I'm about to become a black belt, so clearly we are inspired by the Martial Artists as well. In terms of camps, it can't be beat. My 9 year old loves The Best of the Best camp, after school and doing Hapkido herself. What a great program, with great families to commingle with!

I have been working out at MAFF for a few years now. I Started out with the KUT program . Now I do the kickboxing classes 3-4 x a week usually before work. If I miss an am workout, I may go in the evening after work. The variety of class times makes it hard to come up with an excuse like " I don't have the time to work out". It's the most efficient 45 min program I know of to make you sweat. (I've done P90x). I also do the band classes Tues and Thurs for strength training.
All the instructors have great attitudes, they are training and improving themselves as they help students. Often there are instructors working out on their own time; taking a class taught by another instructor. In the atmosphere there is a sense that this is one big extended family encouraging each other in their practices.
