Worked out at almost all the gyms in SB, Key 2 Fitness is the best. Olympic bumper plates , never too busy . Owner takes good care of the place
Such a great gym with a great group of people! The owner was super nice and accommodated my situation.
This is exactly the kind of gym that I have been looking to join. It has a small community feel, but an extensive line of equipment that allows for all types of exercise. The gym has a ton of natural light and is kept extremely clean. The staff is awesome as well.
Awesome little gym. Not one of those box chain stores filled to the brim with useless machines. This gym is pretty bare bones. It has exactly enough equipment for you to get a good workout in without all the extra frippery. There are three bathrooms, with two showers. The gym has 2 floors with plenty of equipment. The gym is never too busy and is kept really clean and neat. Everything is in good condition, and they have free wifi and sports on the TV all day. I go there to train with a personal trainer. There's free parking in the REI parking lot for Key 2 Fitness members.

I'll miss this gym. Equipment are always well kept, clean (staff are always cleaning or washing the towels), bathrooms are spotless. Nick the trainer knows his stuff and is a great teacher, look for him for results. Robyn is incredibly friendly to everyone and makes you feel welcome from the first day. Great friendly atmosphere, no attitude, no intimidation.

The best Gym in Santa Barbara. The staff is super courteous, and the manager Karen was very accommodating when joining and renewing my membership. The equipment and trainers are all top notch. They have something for every level of fitness training. From the beginner to the heavy trainer. Tons of spin classes, ab/core classes and TRX classes.
A second floor dedicated to Cardio equipment with tv's on each.
There's no reason to go anywhere else to train!

This is a decent gym with 24 hour access. They have an Olympic platform, but no weight dropping is allowed. If you want to do anything more advanced than deadlifts and squats, look elsewhere. But, the equipment is pretty top notch. They have an erg!
I like it here. No meatheads...few hipsters tho
I hit this gym while I was on vacation in Santa Barbara. Even when it was busy, I was easily able to find room and get my sets in without any problems. The staff was extremely friendly and the trainers I came across seemed fairly knowledgeable. If you are looking to do powerlifting, bodybuilding, or just generally get in shape, you should definitely be able to accomplish your goals here. Olympic lifting isn't allowed if you are into that sort of thing, so be aware of that. Private showers and towels are readily available. Online signup was fast and easy and gets you instant 24 hour access to the facility. Overall, an excellent experience.
It's great working out at this gym. The equipment is new and in good condition. If something isn't working it gets fixed in a timely manner. You get the usual rush right after work but its still isn't terrible. The bathrooms are in good shape and the ventilation is good so it doesn't wreak of sweat and BO. You would think that all of these things would be the norm, but unfortunately in town that isn't the case. Which makes me appreciate it that much more.
Good place, has everything you need to get swole.

As a member for a few years now, I am glad to call Key 2 Fitness my second home. The space is compact, but to the point and never over-crowded even during typical "busy" hours. Everyone is incredibly friendly, even members and trainers whom I don't know have come up and said hi to me. Really wide variety of equipment covering all training styles: free weights, weight machines, TRX, bumper weights & platform, cardio machines etc. The environment is clean at all hours, including the bathrooms/showers. No intimidating overwhelming gym vibe, just down-to earth people putting in hard work, which is why I stick around. Thanks Brian (owner) for maintaining a welcoming, cool facility in Santa Barbara.

I've been a member of Key for over a year now and love it. It's a small and very equipped gym and the trainers are great. I never feel intimidated doing my own workouts, which is huge, because as much as I workout, I still get kind of self conscious. The best part is that the gym is always really, really clean. Oh and another added perk is that I can let myself in anytime of day or night - makes it so easy to not have to wait to go to the gym in the wee hours of the morning when I'm awake and most of the world is still sleeping :)
