I took the gel polish manicure and foot spa and had no regrets by their staffs who took care of me. They never fail to make me feel comfortable and ensure that the treatment is up to my comfort. A very good recommendation for everyone to go to when they come here! I am sure to visit the next time.

They will not call you back. You are required to leave your ID at the front desk. If you forget leave a personal item or they forget to give you back your ID you will have no way of getting it as they will transfer you from line to line until you get voicemail. I called for three days, no return call. I thoroughly enjoyed the spa and services but can not leave a positive review for somewhere that doesn't help you when you speak to a live person and instead transfers you to a voicemail that is never returned.

To get to the banya you have to drive out of the way through an industrial area. There is a lot of street parking.
The price is high, but Groupon coupons are often available. You get towels and a robe. You store your clothes in a locker operated with an NFC bracelet. You can also buy stuff at the cafeteria with the bracelet. You leave phone and worries in the locker.
The banya is split in a clothing-optional and clothing area. Sometimes non-clothers spill into the clothing area.
There are at least two dry saunas and a steam bath. The temperatures are quite high. Real men sweat in 100C. The saunas a very spacious and well maintained. There is also a cold water dunk pool, a small swimming pool and two large hot tubs. Approximately half and half in the clothing and non clothing areas.
The banya is like a townhouse with many stories. On the bottom are the saunas, and on the top is a roof terrace. In between we find another terrace and a cafe offering baltic fare. Good stuff. The staff is friendly.
The whole place does feel a bit cramped. During rush hours it is hard to find a seat or you have to wait for people to leave the dunk pool.
Americans are notoriously ignorant of sauna rules and you can see people not shower before hitting the dunk pool or using the sauna without towels or dressed in heavy swim trunks.
If you can get a coupon go there, but go there early and you will have a great time.

Most amazing establishment in US. I haven't found a single place anywhere else that has the awesome level of services found ONLY here

I can't get enough of this place. The staff is always welcoming and courteous. Management takes constructive feedback from guests, and the owner is there almost daily to ensure the banya's integrity is upheld across the board.
It's a great location for groups, and even private parties in the apartment space that you can rent for 3-6 hours. You can even pay a corking fee to BYOB for guests so long as it's consumed within the private apartment space.
There building is ADA compliant with level access to a majority of the facility and elevator access to the rooftop, TV lounge, and cafe with beer and wine. There are also accessible showers, ground floor jacuzzi and pool for those unable to do stairs or need to transfer from wheelchairs.
If you're on a budget, be sure to arrive before 4pm on weekdays to take advantage of the modest happy hour discount on admission. The facilities are clothing optional for one half, and shorts/bathing suits required on the other half, until 6-7pm when the both spaces become optional.
Always clean, facilities maintained, well staffed with attentive hosts, and tons of room to wander, explore, and rejuvenate.

This is by far the best bath house in San Francisco. Very refreshing and soothing with great sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge. Most customers are friendly and they visited at least twice. There are clothing optional section and bathing suit required section. But Wednesday and Friday all day and Thursday to Monday after 6 pm, the bathing suit required section becomes clothing optional. There is a cafe on second floor, and rooftop terrace where is clothing optional means great to sunbath during warm afternoon. Tuesdays are closed except first Tuesday for Women's Night and third Tuesday for Men's Night from 6 pm to midnight.

Went with friends about two weeks ago and this place is great for saunas and just to relax your muscles while talking to your friends. Good to waste some free time here with good prices, not too messy, not too packed, and good customer services.

Very nice facility IMO; really like the 2 story sauna. Had a bad experience with the towel boy however (Russian one with neck tattoos) bullying me about rules that didn't exist, and being strangely aggressive about it. I've been to many banya / saunas over years - this is the first I've ever dealt anything of this sort. C'mon Archimedes! You've got a great banya, why hire these guys??

Unfortunately staff lost my ID. I was informed that ID was found and is on its way, 2 months later, still waiting for ID to come in the mail.

Otherwise this place is great!

If your goal is to relax, this is not the place. This place is more for socializing and to go with friends. This spa looked run-down and not taken well care of. I came with the intention to relax, but whenever I was in the hot tub or somewhere else, someone would either be staring at me or trying to talk to me. In the clothing required section, some naked individuals kept on coming in and staff didn't do anything about it. Someone naked even rubbed against me on purpose. I was hoping that my massage would be more relaxing. Even though the massage was great, there were curtains to close the room instead of doors, so the place felt like a hospital area. There was someone always talking or making noise outside the massage room, which was distracting. Overall, for the price of this place, it's not worth it and there are better quality spa's out there for less.

Amazing professional staff. Very accommodating with knowledge of Banya history as well as history of the food and drinks served in the restaurant. Management is extremely helpful, intelligent, and professional. 5/5

I love immersing myself naked in hot water and steam baths. Food food. Great views of the city. Dynamic crowd. This place is a trip.

This place is delightful! The steam room + cold plunge + water break cycle is fun with a small group. We went up to eat after, and I liked the dumplings.

Spa is amazing! A true spa, to sweat. Great atmosphere, real hot steam and saunas. Friendly customers. Great customer service. And I had the best massage I have ever had from Cristina. The platza service was good as well. I'd get spa treatments here or just come for the day. Both are worth while. My friend didn't like his massage, but he didn't use Cristina. So stick with her

i was spending a week in San Francisco and wanted to visit this bathhouse after researching it on the Intranet. I wanted a non-traditional spa experience and enjoy clothing optional. I booked a premium day pass and added additional treatments. I had an amazing day and loved everything including the food! I raved about the experience to my husband. He in turn sent me back for another day and paid for all my treatments. We plan to move to California first quarter 2018 and i cannot wait for additional visits to Archimedes! Staff is amazing, treatments were perfection and the bar/cafe was great!!! All of the therapists are very professional. Love, Love this place!!

I'm having a great time. The staff was friendly and informative and the food is good. At first I was apprehensive about getting naked in front of strangers with my fiance, but noone seems to care. Every one is very mature and respectful

This place is awesome! I came here on Friday around 6pm and there were a few people, 7:30pm is when it started to get busy. The ladies at the front were nice. Staff in the main area was cool and informative.

Came with my brother for his birthday treat. We took in the fresh air and views at the roof top, dipped in the pool, hot tub, meditated in the sauna, then dipped in the cold pool. Steam room had a scent of eucalyptus, got a massage, and enjoyed.

The best place to get naked in front of strangers. The floors can be a little slick so make sure you wear the sandals. The food is pretty Russian, if you are into that sort of thing, you can get a great weird fish stuff, fried rye bread or more! Be sure to check out the cold pool, it is no joke.

So my husband and I joined our girlfriend there on a Wednesday clothing optional evening - FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! The three of us our super respectful in keeping our conversation to ourselves and not to engage others in touch as we are very firm on consent, and when we talk to others it is very polite and general. We are also very loving playful people. But knowing this is a clothing optional night with people who may or may not be comfortable with our playfulness and conversations we stayed clear of flirting and long embraces and any level of sexual conversation unless it was in a whisper. We have all been to other spas in the bay area and other countries and know how to behave. However our small level of consensual touch between the three of us was complained about several times - say a very unprofessional manager. And we were told that we are banned for the next 90 days as there is a no touching rule and we made people uncomfortable by the touching we were doing. Who the hell attends this place - touch negative people?!?!?!

Lets not forget when we walked in we were greeted in such an unkind unprofessional way that we felt like we were a bother for even stepping through the door. We were not told how the spa was arranged or how to do anything. It was 'hey how can I help you' from a very somber person who I felt didn't want to be there. Once we said we have not been here before there was an "oh ok fill out the form there" and pointed to the counter, which i was not sure at first what she was pointing at until I say the tablet. There was NO communication on anything, so not welcoming or inviting. Again, we have been to other places where there is such kindness and joy that you are visiting, this was not the place. Then we were like ok where do we go and again with a attitude and disdain and a pointing of the finger, ' Down there and the locker room for guys on left and ladies on right. No smile no kindness nothing.

All this said we will NEVER go back EVER! And will make sure to tell others NEVER TO GO!!!
