Our first time visiting was this past Saturday with some friends. We had a blast and everyone was very friendly. So many options to choose from and all difficulty levels for all people. Parking can be tough and may be easier if you walk all the around to the back side of the building. There is also a cool little restaurant and bar which is perfect after a hard workout.

Fun place! It can get super crowded but it is the best bouldering gym in SF. I go there with my friends once a week. Coaches are helpful and gave me good guidances to get better.

Woah! Never knew bouldering could be so fun. Definitely a different experience than the other gyms that only have one bouldering wall. Tons of different angles of walls to work on and almost infinite seeming problems to work on. Very friendly to people new to bouldering. Also, a lot of great gym equipment to work on your skills.

Very nice bouldering gym! Visited on a Sunday while visiting a friend in town. Tons and tons of routes with a good distribution of grades. They use the V system and the color of the hold to map the route (I mention this because the 2 other gyms I go to in Eugene, OR and Boulder, CO use different methods). The website is not very clear, but as of December 2019, a daypass is $25 and shoes are $4 and a membership is $84 I think. There is a fitness area with 4 squat racks, rings, pull up bars, and chalk, chalk bags, shirts, and even holds for sale. I believe they had yoga and fitness also, I did see yoga props around. If I lived in SF I would definitely enjoy climbing here on the reg.

Dogpatch is great but often super crammed. Staff is wonderful and the events are awesome. The new space they built out is great and really helps with the crowded days.

Discovered this place with my friend! Great experience with teachers and climbing enthusiasts. Had a blast rock climbing but definitely wears you down on your body. My first time and I need some practice if I wanna level up.

A nicely-sized bouldering gym. Unlike the bouldering places in NYC, this one is ONLY bouldering (yay!).

So why would I give 4 stars instead of five? Well, dear reader, topping off of a bouldering route is TERRIFYING for me. Gladly you don't have to do that for all the routes here, but I'm a completionist so I felt bad for being a chicken.

Also, the cardio and weight training portions of the the gym are clearly low in priority because they are hidden in two corners. They have treadmills and weights and a pull-up bar. I think they also might have a stretching area over there too...? Find out on the next episode!

Other than that, I love this place. A day pass is intimidating at $25, but it's better than gyms in NYC. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

Huge amount of bouldering. Great routes. Great setting. Fair and consistent grading. Frequent route updates. Good crowd, few kids.

Great place to go, but try to avoid main hours if possible. It gets very busy!

This place has a pretty good variety of routes and setting styles. As a Brit I would have liked to see a few more slabs, but I drink 3 cups of milky black tea every day and eat jammy crumpets so why do you care what I think?

Easily the most impressive bouldering gym out of the approximately 10 I've been to. The route setting is really cool, and there's a good spread of problems from beginner to advanced. It's a pretty beginner friendly gym overall, with reasonable V0s and really chill regulars. I would come here way more if I didn't live so much closer to Mission Cliffs!

Best indoor bouldering in the Bay area. Huge area, lots of variety, new modern holds, problems get reset fairly frequently. Downside is virtually no gym/weights and a day pass is so expensive it makes it impractical to go often if you don't want the membership. Also the membership has a $100 initiation fee which irks me but it give you access to several other gyms in the Bay area and LA area so it's worth it.

I love climbing. I changed this from a 4 to a 5 because they added the first team bouldering I have ever seen.

My second favorite bouldering gym in the state of California with first going to LA Boulders. Their problems are typically well balanced with both soft and hard climbs spanning a huge area especially for the city. Incredibly friendly staff as well with a solid line of snacks, gear, and shoes.

The only consistent con right now is that it gets very crowded every week day past 5 PM. Other cons are only temporary as they expand the gym! They are going to expand the limited weight training section and reopen the yoga studio once construction is complete.

A great place to de-stress. Come vent all your frustration on the heights and obstacles. Watch amazing climbers so their magic and also, you get free coaching from well meaning and overly nice crowd there. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, there something for you. I'm excited about the ongoing expansion too. I think it's long overdue considering the number of people that turn up there daily. Worth every penny

The best Bouldering gym in San Francisco! The setting is interesting and the walls and problems get reset often enough to keep everyone interested. Beginners: read the rules and use common sense for safety, and you will have a great time!

"bouldering heaven" as most people call it. It really is a great place for those who only care to boulder. There's definitely a variety for all climbers and they're expanding. Parking is almost always available in the back so that's good/convenient too.

Lots of different routes that are constantly being updated, so there's always fresh new problems for you to try. It does get a bit crowded at night, but nothing unmanageable. I would personally recommend going on weekday mornings - plenty of opportunity to really dissect each problem!

Great atmosphere, friendly and informative staff. I was a total beginner and they were very helpful and patient with all my questions

I enjoyed the gym, but I wish there were a few more options for beginners. I have been bouldering in Europe quite a bit, and I am used to challenges that offer more variety to a novice than what the bay area has to offer. I liked that there are a few workout options as well.

Really good bouldering. Only con is that it gets too crowded after work hours. Best to go on the weekends or early in the day

Hands down... pulling down.. the best bouldering gym I've ever been to.

MASSIVE and spacious interior
Excellent layout of climbs
Fun and engaging routes

Massive climbing gym dedicated entirely to bouldering...you know...hence the name. We enjoyed the gym a lot and it wasn't nearly as crowded as we expected (Saturday 10am-12:30pm). Wide variety of problems from straight vertical V0 to some really impressive V12 overhangs. My only feedback would be, at the lower levels, the routes are pretty simplistic and wouldn't prep a climber for breaking into the higher V2/V3 categories. Was there with some new climbers and noticed that. There V3 routes though we're awesome, tons of variety and some really interesting problems to solve.

My favorite climbing gym in the Bay. The facility is expansive. Can't wait till they finish the gym portion.

Be sure to check out the other touch stone locations.

I love it here! I took one star away because $25 for a day pass bouldering is insane. Other than that, it's less busy than Mission Cliffs but busier than Planet Granite. I wish there was a pull up bar (maybe I haven't found it?!?!). I have a great time every time I come but since I'm a PG member it's only infrequently. Good mix of challenges routes- I really like the route setting.

Gigantic space focused almost exclusively on bouldering problems. The setters are varied in their styles and techniques. There is a huge space dedicated to indoor bike racks, and lots of free parking within 2 blocks - public transit to here is just okay. The cost of climbing here if you're not a member is absolutely ridiculous though - $25 for a day pass...

Overall, a wonderful gym with great people.

Dogpatch is one of my favorite climbing gyms, mostly because I usually just boulder and this gym feels like an infinite playground to me. Even during peak hours, it's large enough not to feel too crowded. The staff and patrons are so friendly and welcoming; everyone tends to be very supportive and helpful. I feel like I leave each visit with a new climbing friend!

This is also a great gym to bring beginners because the easy routes are actually easy. It makes learning how to boulder much more accessible for first timers.

Fantastic bouldering gym. Dogpatch has a good variety of walls from super-overhung to slab style climbs and aretes. The gym is crowded in the afternoon, but the atmosphere is generally friendly and supportive rather than competitive. Plenty of indoor bicycle parking, plus a small climbing shop. Definitely worth a stop if you're interested in climbing.
