Tried the 10 day trial- I've been doing Hot yoga for over a year at another studio. It was cheap enough that it was worth a shot. I was pretty disappointed

Pros:
-they provide towels and mats, but they also don't let you use your own if you want to. The mat towels are not Yogitoes or towels with grippers on the bottoms, so despite the clamps they slide. I would much rather be allowed to use my own equipment.

Cons:
-The studio bathrooms and showers are pretty beat up, it seems like they're charging fancy gym prices (ie. saying they have Eucalyptus towels) for YMCA facilities.
-Super crowded classes. The room is too packed to see your reflection in the mirror or use that for balance. I tried multiple instructors but found the cues to be unique to this studio and hard to follow.
-Instructors are yelling instructions the whole time so there is very little meditation
-The website only works on certain browsers, so its inconvenient to sign up or cancel classes.
-Biggest one for me: There is no pose correction or feedback! Because you are barely holding a pose for 10 seconds, nobody is giving feedback to people holding poses incorrectly! This seems like the biggest red flag to me- a huge part of learning yoga is learning form, not forcing your body into a posture that you "could do" but really aren't ready for. Tons of people around me were new to yoga or not regularly going and nobody was helping them with form. I would far rather have a simple studio experience with no frills, towels, massages, etc. but actually have an hour long class with attention to poses.

This was my first experience attending live yoga classes. At first, I was attracted to the dark atmosphere that contrasts from everyday surroundings. Though, the new facility is not what I'd label as luxury. It's more about the class. After a few sessions, I became impressed by the song selections, variety of flows and detox sweating. (Don't be ashamed to wear earplugs - you'll never go back to raw audio). Classes typically begin with a moment of calmness, then they kick off with some quick ab work followed by a power-esque intro to each pose, and a fast-paced flow that demands your full physical and mental focus. With only a few breaths in each pose, you are challenged to do your best in the present moment and transition with graceful control. Over the course of several months, the Ritual Hot Yoga practice dramatically improved my physique and posture. The instructors are superstars.

Completely different type of yoga. Great for all levels, but it helps knowing the pose names and fundamentals ahead of time. Mixed crowd from seasoned yogis to classpassers just giving it a try.

The teachers are all exceptionally talented at developing challenging but rewarding flows. Try taking a Yin class for intense deep stretches after a normal Ritual class!

Love love love! I'm a yoga amateur. Like borderline have no place in a yoga class, but Ritual Hot Yoga is so welcoming and supportive. I'm definitely sore from my class yesterday, but all I keep thinking about is how I want to go back and really improve. The pace and music keep it fun and challenging, but you can choose the level of skill that best fits you (level 1 for me lol). The room is the perfect hot, but not smoldering temperature. It also really helps that it's dark AF in there so I didn't feel judged for not knowing what I was doing.

Also the facilities are really nice. Clean showers with bath products, towels, free water (they have cold water bottles in the fridge, but bring a reusable and fill up at the water station), lockers, and such.

I'm definitely coming back. And apparently if you check in on Yelp for the first time you get a free class!

This post is long overdue. Ritual is special in practice and community. Dance worthy playlists, inspiring teachers dedicated to ensuring that all students are technically sound in form and a happy supportive community make Ritual worth it. Practicing anywhere else pales in comparison.

Definitely a different yoga experience but it just takes time to get used to! It's worth it! Highly recommend the 10 day beginners and going as many times as you can in 10 days. Your experience evolves once you are in the groove.

I dropped in for a class during a recent visit to SF and LOVED it. The music was on point and the workout was challenging. Perfect mid-vaca sweat sesh. I'd definitely go back.

I had a great class. I came in with a torn ACL and the instructor gave me modifications so I could still practice. Amenities are fantastic. Good vibes

Ritual Yoga and their trainers are some of the most experienced and personal instructors in the business. I try and go everyday. It has given my mind & body discipline that no other studio or gym routine could provide. Strongly recommend.

Love this studio! The practice at Ritual is different than other hot flow classes that I've taken - it is fast-paced, dark and the flows are always different and challenging. Highly recommend trying out a class!

Will forever recommend Ritual from those just exploring (like myself) to the master yogi's. Instructors ensure that this is MY time to check out and give full focus on myself with all the craziness going on during the day.

Ritual is more than just a Monday night physical work out its a Monday night mental break as well and they've set the environment up just perfectly for that.

Ritual hot yoga is amazing! I usually do not like most yoga places because it is too slow paced for me but Ritual is fast paced and gives me a great workout. I always feel better after I go and even sleep better at night! Also, the music is awesome!!!! :-)

This studio offers way more than just a workout, it's a totally relaxing session for me. So they focus on hot, fast yoga. You will move way faster than in any other yoga class. They have pretty nice music to accompany the workout and the whole session is done in candlelight. What I enjoy most are the little rituals, they have body oils you can use before class, a cold eucalyptus towel at the end and even a short massage. It's just the perfect way to start your day or finish it or at anytime really. You will leave this place feeling like new!

pros- clean, efficient, nice shower area/accoutrements, lovely space, eucalyptus towel at the end is a nice touch.

cons- found that the music was so loud that I couldn't focus at all on my breath or finding a medative state. the instructor (while knowledgeable and sweet) talked over the music loudly throughout the class and didn't allow much time for silence or introspection (it was a yin class.) there was also a lot of spiritual chatter thrown in which isn't my jam personally.

if you like "trendy" yoga you will probably like this studio. honestly, I just found the vibe was distracting me from my practice and ability to focus.

staff were really chill and did end up refunding me the new student fees and I only paid for a drop in. seems like a cool studio if it's what your into, just wasn't for me.

Been coming here for over a year and a half! It is a great work-out with good music, and everything you need is there! No need to bring a mat or towel...or even toiletries! Ritual provides it all :)

This is a great hot yoga studio. They have everything you need, (mats, towels, showers) so just bring yourself and a change of clothes for after!

The class moves quickly so prior yoga experience is very helpful.

Best yoga experience in the bay area. They provide all hot yoga essentials from mats, yoga towels and water. Each class has an instructor and at least one assistant providing adjustments. This is the only hot yoga studio you'll want to go once you start.

Love the ambiance, however I was locked out of the first 5 minutes(during the 5 min. It's dark, the teacher is talking) of the 50 min. class, while I was being showed how to lock the locker which was next to the yoga room. Then when I asked how much the class was? I was told it was 30$ for a drop-in. I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to having the whole experience. I could go in after the introduction but decided to go to CorePower where my first class was FREE. I also was not locked out for the first 5 min. I could understand if I was late but I was literally standing right there!

Love this yoga studio! I feel like it's one of the best in the city! It's clean, and you don't have to worry about bringing a yoga mat or towel. They have thought of everything to make your experience comfortable, from the hair ties, lip balm, yoga blocks, and clips to keep your yoga mat in place. The room is heated, lit by candles, and sometimes has incense burning. Each class has slightly different postures and sequences, but I get a great workout each time. It's a fast flow and gets your heart rate beating. I like how you flow with the music in class. The instructor also places a chilled eucalyptus towel over your face at the end of class during savasana and gives you a little back, neck, and head massage. Highly recommend!
