I frequently call this hotel home during my travels to San Francisco. Courteous staff, the fire pit is pretty awesome, and the rooms are pretty nice. I recommend it.
Rooms are clean but smaller in size. Front desk staff is very pleasant and helpful. Dont expect views or large windows. All in all average but location is convenient.
I had a nice time I like my rooms with views from high. So I called downstairs and they quickly accommadated my desire and gave me a higher floor. Rooms were nice!
Checking in was greeted in abundance of friendliness and helpfulness. So happy to be staying here. Shout out to Angel and Zoe, the hotel is so fortunate to have you both here. Thanks for taking care of me. Definitely recommend any visitors to stay here. Decor was chic and location was convenient.
Parking is a huge problem. Valet is not always available, only for certain hours (?). You roll the dice on street parking availability. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but does have a 'cafe', which seemed to have a small menu and was out of a number of the items on the menu. Union Square is an 11 minute walk, so you'll find places to eat along the way. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Staff is Nice , Room is clean and updated. One thing is location.Thats what bring the rating down.Sorry
Marriott run hotels are always clean this was no exception. However i think this hotel may have the thinnest walls of all time. I could hear full conversations from next door. Then when i woke up it soulded like someone was taking a piss into a bowl of water next to my bed. It was so loud i actually laughed. Bathroom door was strange but being a cramped room i know they were just trying to save space.

The hotel itself is immaculately clean and has very trendy interior (paint splash wallpaper and colorful photographs/prints). The beds are very comfortable, and the pillows are surprisingly supportive for hotel pillows, as well. The staff is quite attentive and kind, and the convenience of the location is great. My only criticisms would be that there isn't a ton of space to put things down, especially in the bathroom (very little counter space or areas to hang towels), but this is probably because the building itself is an older style (but again the rooms are renovated and nice). The towels are also a little cheap (but are clean, of course). I would say four adults in one room is a little tight, but it is definitely worth the price to be in central San Francisco.

Alot of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Small but very nice rooms!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was very updated and a nice landing spot for a long day spent in the city. Friendly staff willing to give local recommendations.

Clean newer rooms, decent location. Staff has been nice
Great room in a crowded city. Didn't hear much noise, friendly staff. Bathroom was a little tight but comfortable room and bed
First trip to San Francisco so I chose this hotel and crossed my fingers. Location was good, rooms were clean, and staff was very friendly. I would stay here again.
Very old and noisy place. Rooms are also very small and not well maintained... you will hear everything outside all night long...they are not even cleaning the windows (see my photo).
Horrible and expensive place... the only positive aspect it's the location.
Nice view.. right at union square.. cozy place.. however bathrooms are super tiny.. no space to stand
Stopped in for drinks and an app, pretty decent on both accounts. The bar area is bigger than it looks from the entrance and they have proper booths in the back.
The rooms are well put together, you can tell that they put time into rebuilding an old hotel. The noise level was low despite the busy streets. I would stay there again
This hotel is not in Union Square it's a few blocks away from Union Square the hotel is kinda in a scummy area alot if bums in the area. Had issue with the A/C not working in my room they came to fix but still didn't work so they moved me to a different room. Hated the small bathrooms in the hotel it was hard to move around and no where to put anything no counters. There isn't bathtubs just showers and the shower curtain doesn't come low enough to avoid water from going all on the floor so when you get out the shower you may slip and fall due to the water being on the floor Went to the gym a few times it's nice. I wish they served free breakfast most courtyard Marriott do. Ate at the hotel restaurant food was ok they only had one person working she was very nice but service could've been faster if more people was working.
Clean room, but compared to other Marriotts, there is a glaring lack of amenities such as free breakfast. Employees were cordial and helpful. Unfortunately because it's in the city, real estate is scarce so the rooms are relatively smaller.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...
Everything in the area is a short Uber ride away. Close to some convenience stores. E. on the overnight shift was amazingly patient and helpful to make sure we were able to find an open place to eat late at night on a holiday!
I was here for two nights. Rooms are nice, but should state European size. The staff was amazing, accommodating, the night manager super kind. Garrett & Shadi the bartenders kept us laughing. Will definitely stay there again. Location is great!

Great location, staff was super helpful. Rooms were clean. Be aware the rooms are smaller than normal. The courtyard is quaint and very useful for drink and lounge. Gym is small but complete.
Very nice rooms and attentive staff. It is a bit cozy but plenty of room. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back.
I booked my reservation on line and was given a rate of $254.00 for the duration of my trip. Upon checking out, I was charged $411.00 for 2nd night due to a "convention" within the city that drove up rates. Really? That's crazy....Bait and switch. When I called and asked about it, the associate was condescending and not willing to even consider a gesture of good faith by offering a reduction. Nicely done Marriott Associate, I'm sure the Hilton will gladly assume our corporate program!
Updated modern rooms for SF at a great price. Rooms are a bit small, but at this price, that's what you're going to get. I loved the modern styling and it was just the right mix of modern and classic.
The only downside is the hot water actually wasn't super hot. I'd turn it most of the way up and it was warm enough, but that was at the upper end of what hot water was available.
Also, the location is on the edge of the tenderloin so just know where you are!
I love staying at Courtyard's ... but not this one. First of all, I reserved a room with a King Size bed, but when we entered, we found that we had two beds. Some of the channels did not work well on the TV, they had a "skipping" which made the channels unwatchable. The water was not very hot (lukewarm is how I would describe it). The bathroom was very very small.
Honestly, even with what I mentioned, it wasn't a bad experience and I would stay at this hotel again, but NOT for what I paid. For two nights, my bill was over $1000. Next time, I will just pay another $1000 and stay at a 5 star hotel. For what we got, we felt the price was too high.
Nice Lobby, rooms modern, nice and clean. Very small rooms though. No pool, no included breakfast. Breakfast bar for pay a bit expensive. Expensive valet parking only. Staff very friendly and professional.
Great rooms, great customer service. Unbelievably comfortable beds. Very nice location. Valet parking should have been included in the room price. It was an additional $65 a day. That was very disappointing. There was no street parking available
This courtyard had nice and updated/ modern rooms which were clean and well maintained. Rooms are very small though. Staff was very friendly. Location is very poor. It is quite a walk from anything worth sight seeing. Don't let anyone tell you the location is good. Also it's on the edge of a bad neighborhood in San Fran. A bit over priced as well for all the negatives. No breakfast and pay breakfast a bit expensive for what was offered. Also left with a bad note. Front desk said a cab to airport was around $25. Valet got cab and it was $45. Be careful there.
The Courtyard itself was nice as usual. The only issue I had was that I was told it would be $170 for the night as that was the price I booked it at (which included my taxes. I believe the actual booking price was 146 or 149 without taxes) and my husbands card was charged for $236??? At the front desk I asked that they emailed the receipt rather than print it and I haven't received the emailed receipt so I can't even verify what the extra $60 outside of my room was for.
Just concerned that I wasn't charged what I was told I was going to be charged and now I don't have a receipt to prove it.
If you stay here, be sure to get a physical receipt as I'm not sure where in the world our receipt got emailed to.
EDIT: after reading further reviews apparently valet parking is $60.00?! I'm not from San Francisco and upon asking the front desk if valet was the only option she said yes. I feel like I could have parked overnight at some parking garage for cheaper. Super disappointed.
I guess the last person to leave a comment like this also was replied to by the manager there who said that they "spoke to the employee that was responsible" but they didn't even resolve the issue? Solid. That's awesome.
