Mission Yoga was not professional as I was hoping them to be. I made a reservation, showed up (with a few other people) only to find out that the place is locked and no one is there. I tried to call, tried to email, and got no feedback. I prepaid for the experience and still haven't received a refund which they are refusing to give me.
There are plenty of good and reliable yoga / floatation tank places in San Francisco that would be much better.
This is a great Bikram studio in the heart of the Mission that embraces the uniqueness of SF and the local Bikram community. They have a variety of classes including music enhanced as well as various interesting one off events. The painted ceiling is a nice thing to look at when you get to the floor series and it along with the overall vibe of the place make it one of my favorites across the country. (Parking not too hard but doesn't hurt to be a little early.) Also, if you're into floating, they offer that as well...they say nothing is better than a float after class!
This vibrant, friendly, and welcoming studio is my top favorite. I always feel an extra sense of dedication from the teachers here, no matter who is teaching the class. There is also a wonderful variety of classes, which helps to keep it challenging!! Having been a (not super frequent but steady) Bikram student for about 18 years, I find that my practice helps me in numerous ways, more so every year. I've visited all the studios in San Francisco, current and past...we are so fortunate to have a number of wonderful places to practice and so many excellent teachers. But the studio that I enjoy coming to the most is definitely Mission Yoga!
This studio has been in the Mission since 2001 and is winner of both the SF Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay and SF Weekly's Best of SF. Great, classes, great teachers, great community, plus they now offer float sessions in Samadhi float tanks. So much to love here.

Love coming to do Bikram here with Marlene's advanced class on Fridays at 6pm. Poses are one time each and you do a lot more variations in this class. You can register online through their website, Groupon or ClassPass.

Awesome classes, amazing instructors, fabulous vibe.
Carpet and pools of sweat really aren't a good combination. I hear the instructors are great, but I couldn't tell you...the I barely got through the class due to the foul smell, I just couldn't get a deep breath. Paid for 2 weeks, attended one class, it was worth letting it go not to smell the place again.
Amazing teachers! Never had a bad class here.
Love the friendly vibe at this place. They have showers, lockers, and a great selection of healthy drinks and snacks too.
Yes it does smell. Especially the carpet.. Guys please do something about the smell!
Great location. Diverse teaching styles and classes.
Great local yoga studio! It has lots of character and the owners, Steve and Juicy are very nice and welcoming. The classes are great and varied, and they even host occasional parties.
I wish they would replace the carpeting with hardwood though since it usually smells.
This is a good yoga studio, and the teachers are awesome. They recently started offering a variety of classes in addition to Bikram.

We were immediately greeted by the most foul compilation of foot odors upon entering the studio.
My friend and I arrived very last minute to register for the 4:30. The desk person/ teacher attempted to be helpful but ended up coming off condensing. I get it, you're annoyed we're arrived last minute.
Then he tells us the drop in rate, $23 dollars.
I've attended classes led by world class, TED talk lecturers yogis in nicer studios for a third less of this price. Maybe the $7 dollars more is for the honor of smelling every single person who's ever been to Mission Yoga. They have carpet in the studio also. My hands smelled so bad after touching it. Washed my hands twice till they stopped smelling like Mission Yoga.
The class felt like physical education yoga rather than a practice of mind/body focus.
I brought my phone in because I saw other's in the studio with theirs. Just my luck that I did because I had a family emergency. The instructor comes to me and tells me to step out despite others texting during class.
Great, so I left.
