I came to Tru Pilates while on the mend from a sports injury. I knew I'd need 1:1 instruction to make sure I learned proper form and avoid aggravating my injury. I picked Tru Pilates because of Trusha's thoughtful, whole body approach. We talked about where I was with my recovery and where I wanted to be. She modified a number of workouts to help me build my strength back up in a balanced and healthy way. Her workouts have been an integral part of my recovery and have helped me get back to the activities I love.
Tru Pilates has been a fantastic addition to my weekly workout - focused on building core strength. Trusha (the owner) has an incredible passion for teaching, as well as her attention to details to ensure you are getting the most from your 1:1 time with her. I highly recommend Tru Pilates !
Tru Pilates is an excellent Pilates studio. I have several sports injuries from playing ice hockey, tennis, and skiing and had back surgery in 2011 for a herniated disc and have a bulging cervical disc as well.
Trusha is an awesome instructor and knows how to tailor lessons to help improve my flexibility and core strength with regards to my bad back and neck. You can tell she is experienced and well-versed because she has such a deep knowledge of Pilates exercises and knows how to modify them specific to individual needs. She's very personable and is great at inspiring and motivating you - these exercises can be hard!
I'd highly recommend Tru Pilates to any person, whether you've been doing Pilates for a while or are giving it a try for the first time!
Nothing beats the feeling that follows my weekly hour at Tru Pilates! Walking down Hayes, I feel absolutely radiant--stronger, more limber, and completely free of the tension that normally resides in my shoulders.
I used to jog and lift weights to stay in shape until a couple of injuries reset my progress. This time I decided to rebuild my body the right way, focusing first on core strength and flexibility. I used to think that intensive aerobic and lifting exercises were the only way to get quick results--but this is happily not the case; I started seeing and feeling improvement after my first session with Trusha.
I cannot imagine a better trainer: Trusha is a Pilates scholar with an intuitive understanding of human movement. She tailors every session to my unique needs and just like any great coach, knows just when to push and when to suggest a relaxing round of passive stretching...

Pilates is great to begin with and then Trusha makes it even better. Her workouts are customized to meet me where I am each time I walk in the door while simultaneously challenging my body in order to continue increasing flexibility & building strength. By that I mean she takes into account how much energy I have at the beginning of each session or any musculoskeletal aches / pains I may have and uses that as a starting point, easing into the exercises and then before I know it I'm half-way into a set that burns so bad I should want to give up but instead, she's clearly helped me tap into some reserve I've underestimated in myself & I want to do more! Without fail I leave Trusha's feeling fully invigorated, light in my body & in a glowing mood.
Additionally, she is so charming and her company is so enjoyable that if it weren't for the soreness of my muscles in the days that follow I would feel as if I'd just been hanging out with a great friend cracking up as we swap stories.
