Really horrible customer service and hospitality. They have a consultant working the desk who is rude and completely lacks hospitality. You would expect that they would train "consultants" who are working on the business side on how to interact with yoga customers. Have never had such a negative experience at a workout studio, let alone a yoga studio.

Have been here a few times for their morning community class and have enjoyed myself. It's heated, but not full on hot yoga. So if you like it warm but don't want to feel like you're going to pass out this is for you.

The instructor I've had has been helpful and friendly. The studio is charming and a little funky (but what studio isn't).

I was visiting from out of town and decided to give this studio a try. It is relatively affordable for the Bay Area, and the staff were all very kind. It was exactly the experience I was looking for.

Beautiful space with a close community of yoga practitioners. Located in a great space to grab a bite/coffee before or after class (La Boulangerie or Ritual Coffee) Coming from an alignment-based background, I really enjoy the Hatha alignment class on Sundays.

Great instructors, many different styles of classes and some with live music. They have a pretty good new customer special. If you buy packs, they're pretty good about extending the expiration date of the pack. Nice space and location but beware you'll be smelling paxtis pizza sometimes which could be a killer.

I was thinking of taking classes here since I live a block from the studio. The store has a little storefront with clothes and yoga items to purchase. When I walked into the store to check out the items for sale and to inquire about classes, the lady at the desk with blonde hair kept giving me abrupt "shhh"s and telling me that a class was going on. When I tried to ask her a question she also told me to lower my voice. However when an older white lady talked to her she was polite and didn't tell her "shhhh." I don't know anything about the classes, because the front desk lady incredibly rude and pretentious. It is at a convenient location and I was excited to check it out but the customer service was very offputting and disappointing. Perhaps if you want to have a storefront selling clothes and have classes going on, get a real door rather than a curtain to keep the noise out.

I love Yoga Tree Hayes! Teachers, receptionists, fellow yogis, everybody is friendly and has a great energy. Teachers are not only knowledgeable and technical but also patient and caring, and FUN! Location is also amazing -- it's right in Hayes Valley! It's surrounded by so many cute little stores, cafes and restaurants. Going to this studio makes me feel I'm connected to people and local community.

This is a popular branch of Yoga Tree, so expect classes to be very very crowded and mats to be packed very close together. I liked the Vinyasa class, but Hatha - personally, not so much. If you prefer teachers to be talking a lot and telling lots of stories during the class, take the Hatha on weekends. If you want a relaxing hour of practice, then definitely don't take that!

I'm new to yoga so I really enjoy the Tuesday and Thursday morning beginner classes at Hayes Street. I wish there were a few more beginner classes. I've also had one massage at Valencia Street which was excellent; so sorry to hear she's moving to Portland.

I love that you can buy a pass of 5 or 10 classes in advance, schedule on line, or simply tell them your name when you walk in. Very easy, seamless, relaxing.

Yoga Tree creates a feeling of community instantly. The staff is genuine and friendly, the teachers are interested in every student and give personalized attention to everyone. This carries over to the students being friendly to each other. I like that the yoga practice is focused on doing the poses correctly and time is spent to ensure this is happening. For everyone. Regardless of how many times the student has been to class and regardless of how advanced the student is.
