Great teacher!
I was a member of PHHC for close to a year and really enjoyed my experience there. I lived in Pac Heights, so it was just a few blocks away and never too crowded (even during peak times). The staff and owner do a great job of keeping the equipment and space updated/clean, which I greatly appreciated.
As others have mentioned, this is by no means a HUGE space, but offers plenty of room for those who want to do cardio, free weights or classes. They do a great job of utilizing the space and offer most of the traditional free weights and racks (bench press, squat rack, etc.), that a typical workout would incorporate. I also really liked the sun roof they had in the weight room, which would offer a nice reprieve from the stale "gym smell" that many fitness centers can start to smell like.

This is the most wonderful gym. They've got everything you need, friendly staff, and it has much more of an atmosphere than a big chain gym. The best part though, by far, is the fact that a 12x12 skylight can open completely at your whim so you get some sun and fresh air while working out!
This was the ideal gym for me during my stay in Pacific Heights. The prime location made it convenient to incorporated into my routine. Trying the first day for free is what sold me!

Loved going to PHHC. Cozy and intimate gym, but yet fully equipped and never too busy. The retractable roof was a great touch that gave the place a nice outdoor feel on sunny days. Very attentive staff, and great location just off Fillmore. Highly recommend.

PHHC is a great, intimate neighborhood gym with a reasonable monthly membership fee. The staff is friendly and the gym is clean. It is never crowded, there is always ample space to workout using whichever equipment you'd like. If you prefer to workout in a group setting there are a few class offerings included in your membership. They also offer small group and personal training at an additional rate.
The only reason I did not give PHHC 5 stars was because of my personal preference for a greater variety of class offerings, specifically yoga. They do not offer yoga classes included in your membership.

Omg, I love this gym! Very peaceful, very quiet and the best of all is that all the members mind their own business. They are there to WORKOUT not socialize. The facility is very clean, have all the good equipment one needs for a good workout, they are dog; which is so cool and the staff always have a big smile on their face when they welcoming you. Their roof is open so there is a perfect natural ventilation thought-out the gym. I just wish some of the few of the members would respect the gym regulations and put their weights back on their places. There are signs asking them to do so but someone just ignore it. Other then that I LOVE this facility!
