Excellent striking and grappling with a strong focus on fundamentals, new strategy, and real world application. Excellent mix of training techniques in a hardworking yet friendly environment. Jimmy is an experienced fighter, humble role model, and engaged instructor. He cares about the community he is building.
Jimmy is a great couch and mentor. His extensive experience and passion makes all the difference while guiding students to find their goals and their paths.
It has been great to be part of Bushido Fight Team!!! I have been in different gyms in the attempt to start learning Muay Thai but at Bushido I felt at home since the first day. Everybody was welcoming and inclusive (even though I didn't know anything about martial arts).
At Bushido there is not going around the bush, you don't need a fancy uniform, gloves or so, you need wiliness to learn.
I didn't have to pay for my trial class, I used their equipment for several weeks until I felt that over there was the right place for me, then I bought my own gloves, etc. In other gyms that I have been around, to start, I had to buy clothes, gloves, hand wraps plus pay for the trial class. It was a lot of money to try something that I didn't know if I was about to pursue.
On top of all, Jimmy is always available to help you extra hours and support you. He is a true mentor! I couldn't find a better place to start this martial arts journey!
Great school to train at. I went in for one class during my visit to San Francisco and everyone was welcoming. Professor Jimmy was an awesome teacher and very knowledgeable. Recommend this school to anyone looking to train in the area!
Jimmy is an AMAZING teacher. He truly cares about each and every one of his students. He has taught me so much! Definitely one of the best martial arts schools in San Francisco. He takes the time to teach every students, and constantly checks on their progress and development.

I love this Gym, I pay $95/month to to BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Workout. Can't go wrong. Easy parking, nice environment, I love it. 100%
I've been training BJJ here for about a year and I really appreciate Jimmy as a teacher of the martial art! My teacher Jimmy Jarquin has rolled with some of the most well known names in Jiu Jitzu like BJ Penn, Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez and Nate Diaz to name a few.
The class sizes aren't too big, which means you can get a lot of useful feed back from Jimmy on your technique. I think one of the reason why Jimmy's students learn BJJ well and effectively is because Jimmy appreciates that for you to learn a move, often the knowledge will sink in deeper if you are the one who is stringing the pieces together because it forces you to be examining and questioning your own game, which is a really good habit! But Jimmy is always there to correct any ineffective technique too haha!
The atmosphere is great at Bushido too, very welcoming and just a really nice and funny bunch of people!
I've been training here over a year and would not sign up for another gym while Bushido is around. The owner, Jimmy, has been training for well over 20 years and has the kind of technical expertise that's hard to come by. You don't just get ran through the motions, you get detailed instructions from Jimmy and help from higher belt students to make sure what you're doing is right. You have to be ok with getting yelled at once in while, but I'll take that all day as opposed to a coach that's not invested in my development.
When you join, you really become part of Jimmy's family and gain a new group of friends that are invested in you as a student and a person.
