Great gym for the value. Clean facility, decent staff and open at 4:am when I need it to be! Wish they had a spin bike though

It gets points for being newer and more spacious than most PFs, though many members here have terrible gym ettiquete when it come to hogging machines and weights. Free weights end up scattered all over the gym and I have never seen employees do a sweep to collect them while I have been here.

Fully equipped with awesome staffs. I have been to many other location of planet fitness but this one in richmond is cool than many other. They got huge space inside. Restroom are clean and got plenty of parking space.

Moved into the area recently and wanted to join a gym close to home, this one was perfect as it happened to be the closest. Friendly staff, lots of machines, cell-phone conversation free(amazing) zone, lots of ventilation! Would recommend it if you are looking to join a gym, PF is a great place to start! :)

Nice place to work out if you know what you're doing. No trainers on the floor, no showers either.

Basic community gym. Friendly staff, no frills or amenities, but gets the job done with a great price. Go on off hours to avoid the crowds.

Another disappointing workout. I don't understand why people are allowed to hog the machines in the 30 minute fitness area. I tried to explain to someone that they had to move long when the light changed but he just ignored me and there was no staff in sight to ask for help.

The one in Oakland and Concord are very nice that keep it clean equipment is always working they have good equipment there

I really want to like this gym, but the hours a very bad on weekends. Very inconvenient for anyone that works odd hours. Persistent standing water always on the ground in men's shower area. No antislip mats. There really needs to be another location in either downtown Oakland or Berkeley that's truly open 24/7

Truly a judgement free gym. You don't need to feel self conscious and the staff are friendly. Staff will also answer any questions without putting you down. Great place for beginners!

A lot of people has complaint that there are not enough machine for the squads but otherwise is nice and pleasant staff is amazing really nice and the kind of people that works out is really nice and humble always willing to help around to new people and share equipment when ever is to busy
I wish we could have at least another machine for squads a lot of people has ask front desk or has called for it cuz is really demanding but very few of them available

I enjoy the facility, but the only down side is there aren't a lot free weights/dumbbells. So if there's a particular weight you wanna, you may have to wait for it.

Lots of workout equipment so your never standing around, as well as a large selection. Cool atmosphere too!

The staff are very kind and welcoming. The facility is clean. Parking is very limited a lot of the time (I recommend parking across the street at Grocery Outlet). They don't have any sort of anti-slip mats in the shower room, which is very dangerous. Though it's a luxury item, I was surprised their water fountain area did not have a water bottle filling station, as many of the other PF gyms do have them.

Good place to work out but when joined I paid $47 to joined $39 for membership and $8 to cover the pass month on the 18th of next month I was charged $15 and at end of the month I was charged another $39 and I was told that the $47 would take of that,so you do the math for a month

Planet Fitness must have a contract with the Contra Costa County Social Services Dept. cuz all the men here look like they just got out of prison. The showers are full of homeless taking their monthly bath. There is always a janitor's pushcart pushed around, but I've never seen anyone clean anything. Most of the clients are sitting on a bench talking on a phone while they have a bottle of water on the bench next to them. The crew act nice if you don't speak to them, but if you do, they are extremely rude. I can't believe that this building was a Safeway because the ventilation is very bad. Very hot and steamy all the time and it smells like everyone has been farting all day long. The floors are always filthy and full of toilet paper and other disgusting items. The parking lot is a dangerous place---I would never come here at night. it is very difficult to cancel your contract.

Sometimes parking is hard to find, but other than that I feel it's your typical Planet Fitness.

$120 a year gym membership.
$500 for a new passenger side window.
There is no excuse for a car burglary in broad daylight.
More important, no one reported the incident, no one called the cops.
The broken glass from car burglaries actually piles up all of the time.

Staff is professional and helpful. The facility is large and accommodating for all body types. Love the no judgement zone. I recommend to anyone.

For $10 a month what else can you ask for? There are weight machines, free weights, and plenty of cardio options. The changing rooms have lockers, showers and a couple of blow-dryers and are usually well kept. One thing I've noticed is not all gym goers wipe down their equipment even though there are paper towels and disinfectant readily available. Can't blame the establishment for that one though.

No Olympic weights at all? What kind of gym doesn't have Olympic weights? And even the dumbbell selection is paltry. Everything else is machines here, and the weight machines were all in use when I tried to go (granted it was New Year's resolution season). It's at least clean and well-maintained, and if all you want are cardio machines, then you'll be totally satisfied--gazillions of those.

Love it!!!. My boyfriend and i go there together. Everytime you work out on the equipment there is spray bottle filled with chemicals and napkins to wipe down the equipment (before and after). They also have nice locker rooms 3 to 4 showers. Three to four bathroom stalls and three to four changing stalls. Employees know how to clean the locker rooms. They also look nice.

Lots of machines and lots of airflow. The locker rooms are decent and the no intimidation policy is great. Also, you can't beat the price.

Place is always clean staff has been nice and helpful. Love uploading my workouts onto the app. Always get the equipment I want. Haven't tried the trainer or classes yet but they only have one trainer at this location that doesn't make sense but otherwise love this place!

Great place to exercise and stay in shape. All the equipment and machines you need. Only crowded at expected times. Great perks for black card holders. Free WiFi.

It's ok. There is nothing special about PF and really nothing wrong with it either. It's a clean well lit place to go and work out. They manage to keep the water and power on, but nothing stands out -- not even the tootsie rolls or the pizza night (which I don't participate in and those who complain about it don't have to either!). I think the front desk folks could be a little more interactive or helpful (I once told one of the people at the front desk that the lights in the parking lot were out and they told me to call later in the day when the manager was there to complain about it) but it's no frills, cheap and they have decent equipment.

Here for the cost, and conveniently close to home. Equipment is worn, of course with lots of use, but routine maintenance would be good.
