I have been a fan of Club Pilates Villa Park since April 2016. I have an annual unlimited membership, which is an incredible bargain. I take 12 classes per week: a Pilates reformer class every day, and a following Stretchilates class 5 days per week. Pilates is my daily morning ritual that helps me stay healthy, strong, flexible, and grounded.
The morning Pilates instructors, Lori Barnes, Sanio Ferreira, and Jenna Thormodsgaar, are all incredible. Every class is challenging and different, so I never get bored. The instructors are very knowledgeable and know how to modify exercises to accommodate a client who is injured, or a client who wants to increase the intensity level of the exercise. After taking Pilates classes regularly for 7 years, I am always amazed to be introduced to a new exercise that I have never done before.
This studio is only a couple of years old and very clean. Each client sprays and wipes down each piece of equipment after every class, and the microfiber wipe-down cloths are laundered after every use.
The owners, Tom and Emily Hammett, and the manager, Leslie Agassi, are very friendly. They greet each client by name and treat each client as a valued customer. The clients are all very sociable and welcoming. A client of any fitness level, age, or sex will be comfortable here.
I used to have a problem with several rubbing vertebrae. After regularly taking Stretchilates classes, I am so happy that the rubbing has disappeared.
I introduced Pilates to my husband and now, he is a fan, too, and does Pilates every day.
If you want to stay fit into old age, Pilates is the answer. I am 64 years old, and my husband is 62 years old.
