I have been practicing yoga for awhile, around 5-6 years. I personally was disappointed with this studio. I took a few of their classes with my boyfriend who is new to yoga, but the instructor, I felt, had too many modifications. I understand yoga is for everyone and some people may not be able to hold themselves in certain positions due to age, injuries, mobility limitations, etc., I found it difficult to practice when you are being instructed to use 4-5 blankets, a pillow, and straps all at the same time. It takes away the focus when the instructor will not move on with a posture or let you not use the many supports and is constantly telling you how to adjust the pillows and blankets. He had asked where I had practiced and I had mentioned that I had just moved and was coming from Sumits studio in RSM, a studio I really loved, a Bikram class. It used the posture series of Bikram but at a faster pace and in between intervals also other poses like down dog, planks and cobra. He proceeded to laugh at me in the middle of class and ask me if I was sure it was Bikram because it doesn't sound like it to him. He then was encouraging others in the class to comment and laugh. I was really taken aback and a little uncomfortable, but decided to try again with another class. The next class I did was the same instructor filling in for another and thus the same result; using a giant pillow, blankets and straps for a majority of the poses. I think this studio may be better for people who need all the aids and modifications. This studio was just unfortunately not my forte.
