My wife and I attended the prenatal birth prep class at Then Comes Baby and it was incredibly helpful. Several of my friends have shared stories with me about their wives pregnancy and labor experiences so I wasn't completely in the dark before the course. However, as we got closer to my wife's due date, I was super grateful to have downloaded the wealth of useful information that we learned at the classes. The overall course was split into 4 sessions. Our instructor Claire was a labor nurse and lactation consultant so she had in-depth knowledge on the subject matter and a lot of personal experience. She approached the material with respect, sensitivity, and a lightheartedness. She also was very knowledgeable about the local hospitals in the area and their nuances. By the end of the course, we felt really comfortable and bonded with the other couples that attended the course. There is something really special about getting as prepared as possible for a major life change with other people who are going through the same process. Ultimately, my wife's labor experience was LONG and did not go as planned. This is even more reason that I'm grateful we attended the birth prep course. It gave us both a level of confidence and ease before we ventured into the delivery room. I wholeheartedly recommend their birth prep classes and I am thankful for the support and education they provide the local community.

Really cute space and a great way to meet other moms. The time I spent here totally changed my maternity leave and I still keep in touch with the moms I met. It's so nice to have the resource.

Then Comes Baby has provided me with wonderful support and a sense of community as I recently moved to Oakland and had my first baby (currently 2 months old.) I was introduced to Then Comes Baby through our pediatrician who recommended Sabrina Easterling for lactation consultation. Sabrina is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced as a consultant and nurse, and also goes above and beyond to personally provide emotional support to her clients as well as information to help you make informed personal choices supported with research and data. She provided me with a high level of support and service as I made important decisions that were right for me and my baby.

Then Comes Baby also offers fantastic classes structured in a learning series. The Tummy Time class and first-time mothers groups were both incredibly helpful as I learn how to be a new mom and build connections with other local East Bay parents which have helped me quickly gain support and a sense of community.

I have had a wonderful experience at TCB! We were in a pinch and needed a pump ASAP. Sabrina responded to a call on Sunday evening and had us pick up a pump that evening, which was life saving at the time!

I then attended a new mom's group with Sabrina, which was very supportive and loving:)
As a lactation consultant Sabrina was super helpful and we were able to figure out my baby had a lip and tongue tie. She connected us with the right professionals to help us along the way. So grateful to Sabrina at TCB, definitely recommend her!

I found Sabrina, the proprietor of Then Comes Baby when I was running into some breastfeeding issues. She returned my call the day I called her and was available to meet me the following morning.

Sabrina is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to lactation (as you might expect from an IBCLC) but she also has an incredible all-around understanding of the totality of your baby's path and developmental trajectory. This allows her to troubleshoot the issues,
understand what else might be going on with your child and contextualize breastfeeding issues within the bigger picture. Sabrina also provides a balance between an evidence-based/data-driven approach and the empathy you might expect and hope to receive from another mom who truly believes in the benefits of breastfeeding.

Lastly, Sabrina's flexibility and availability cannot be underestimated . She even finished a consultation with me in the car because my child needed to nap!!
If you find yourself in need of help in this realm, do yourself a favor and connect with Sabrina.
