Such a great studio! Super welcoming and friendly but also relaxed. Practices are both relaxed but can be challenging if you want them to be. Definitely recommend.

Although I'm a regular to the Berkeley/Oakland area, I had not yet discovered Innerstellar Pilates & Yoga. That has truly been my bad as I am loving this studio and the different instructors! The atmosphere is very laid back and inclusive which I very much appreciate. They offer a great set and number of classes per day and the membership prices are also very reasonable. I am now on my one month newby trial, but I will definitely be back after that!

I love Innerstellar Studio! Everyone is very welcoming, and the vibe is spectacular. I love to enjoy a cup of tea in there after my classes. The instructors are very skilled, patient, and overall friendly. They also have mats available which I find it very helpful.

I am NOT a yoga person. This is what I have told myself all my life, and living in Berkeley, where everyone seems to be a yoga person, I did not believe I could start doing yoga in my forties and get anything out of it. I can! Innerstellar is chill chill chill and super welcoming. A true neighborhood studio, and very welcoming. Try it! From one non-yoga person to another.

Interstellar is a wonderful studio. The instructors are smart and positive. The environment is warm and inviting, and the front desk staff is helpful and informative. They even have mats if you forget to bring your own. What's not to like? And the prices are reasonable.!

I absolutely LOVE going to Interstellar Pilates & Yoga! The space is conveniently located and parking is usually easeful even when you're running a bit close to the beginning of class. When you enter Interstellar the front room is spacious, clean and bright. The person working at the desk is always welcoming and there to support you getting into class quickly and efficiently. I always take Aviva Levine's class. It is a Magical, Healing, Therapeutic, Contemplative class. Bathrooms are clean. Props are clean. Filtered water is available from their water fountain. And... there's yummy organic tea to sip on before, during or after class. I've been to many yoga studios throughout the world and Interstellar is one of my favorites!

This place is wonderful. Strong, knowledgeable, thoughtful teachers. I go to the forest yoga and stellar flow classes, albeit infrequently. But I love how the instructors spend some time in every class on hand/shoulder/neck stretches (good for all our screen time these days!) and abs. They've really perfected the crunch! I always feel like I get a good workout and a good stretch with each yoga mat class! Great way to start your week, and a lovely way to end your week, feeling physically relaxed and mentally centered. Highly recommend!

Teacher's demonstrations, clear concise directions and willingness to offer individual coaching are excellent.

Innerstellar is a Forrest yoga studio, and I really like this style. There's some flow and some holds; the advantage is that it's designed to counteract the effects of office/ computer work -- hand and wrist stretches, chest openers, upper back activation, focus on decompressing the spine ("telescoping the ribs"), relaxing the neck and jaw. I always leave class feeling good. Teachers are thoughtful about consent around contact, offer modifications for different levels/injuries. Studio space is comfortable. My only complaints are that weekend morning classes can be packed uncomfortably tightly, and that I wish there were more classes later in the evening (7 or 8 PM).

Innerstellar has definitely improved my health and well-being.
Neck pain: I am a Physical Therapy student, so I have a lot of anatomy training and injury therapy training. I had been managing my own neck pain alone with stretching and exercises. But within one week of regular classes at Innerstellar, my neck has gotten more motion and less pain than it has in months of my own management! It's undeniable, yoga helps. Forrest and Innerstellar flow yoga may address neck pain more than other types of yoga because they incorporate nerve, tendon, and muscle stretches in the upper body chain of: fingers, wrists, shoulders, neck. (Newbies! Make sure to do these stretches more gently than you think, as nerves in your carpal tunnel, neck, and fingers may be more irritable than you'd expect.)

Well-being: I LOVE the slow-paced breathing in Forrest yoga that you might not get in a faster-paced flow class. Regularly practicing this slow breathwork has a notable effect on my nervous system (how often I'm in fight or flight mode) and therefore my mood. Forrest/Innerstellar yoga stand out in this way.

The teachers are quite experienced. In "All Levels" classes, Michelle was particularly careful with gentle adjustments that my body felt safe receiving, and I felt better after the adjustment. I am extremely careful of teachers adjusting my postures, because I've seen yogis get injured.

I gave 4/5 because the way I rate, I'd only give 5/5 to 100% satisfaction. Also, what I happen to value in yoga- I value a variety in types of yoga practices offered at a studio(e.g. Iyengar, Ashtanga styles offered at one studio). Also, as a future healthcare provider, I value experienced professionalism. This means the highest quality of healing and teaching that only come with years of experience. Lastly, as a highly spiritual person, I also happen to value learning about yoga sutras or other traditional texts. A 5/5 star rating from me would be extremely difficult to get. So overall, Innerstellar, in my honest opinion, is a great studio with a high value for clients who want pilates, core strengthening, slow, deliberate yoga practice, regular breath work, a therapeutic perspective, and pleasant community vibes. I will continue coming here!

Innerstellar is so much more than a yoga and Pilates studio. It's a center for healing - both injuries as well as anxiety and the mental/emotional strains of living in a big busy world. It's truly my home away from home.

I thought I knew a thing or 2 about yoga before coming here but my mind was totally blown open to the idea that yoga could be more than a workout. It could be a way to connect to myself, to soothe my overstimulated brain, to develop a caring and compassionate relationship with my body, to heal my injuries and to become part of a community of people dedicated their own evolution.

These tools originally helped me through a stressful period of change in my life. Since then, they have become the foundation of my self-care and in the way I now teach my own classes.

It's rare to find a group of such unique yet dedicated, experienced and passionate teachers in one place. You won't go wrong no matter which class you show up to.

Bought a Groupon for a 10-class pass. The studio is smaller, but quaint. The pilates class kicked my butt! Really felt it in my abs the next day.

I was visiting Oakland for the month and was fortunate to find Interstellar. I took Forest Basics with Kiki and Abbie, and Stellarflow Basics with Marie, and was uniformly impressed with the quality of instruction. I have been taught how to go from plank to cobra to downward facing dog many many times. This time it made perfect sense :-)
