Came from a different state to train and have not felt so welcomed in any other gym. Amazing people and amazing coaches all working hard for the same goal. Love this place can't wait until I come back! Thank you Romulo for being so nice and making me feel home.

I just moved out here from Illinois and started training at GB Northridge about a month ago. I came from another Gracie Barra where I trained for a few years before coming to California.
If you know anything about the sport of Jiu Jitsu, you know who Romulo Barral is - world champion, ADCC champion, the list goes on. So I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to train at his school.
I live in Santa Monica, so sometimes it can take me an hour to get here, but it's well worth the drive.
Everyone who trains here welcomed me like I was already part of the crew, so I never felt like "the new guy." Really cool group of guys and girls and I enjoy training with them immensely.
If you're in the area, you definitely need to check this place out. Top level Jiu Jitsu instruction, great atmosphere, and awesome people all around.
Gracie Barra Northridge has changed my life. I have so much respect for all the amazing & talented people. Everyone has been so kind to me and welcomed me with open arms . I feel like a champion everytime I leave the gym. I love GBN.

I began my toddler at this school because of its perfect location near the center of the valley, as well as the staff and coaches. The 1st day we walked in we were greeted by Jenny, one of the kindest girls I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. After meeting the kids coaches, I was hooked. Coach Peter & prof. Jasons ability to engage with the kids while maintaining a firm and fun atmosphere was very welcoming to see.

My family and I love Gracie Barra Northridge. Not only is it a great work out it is a life style change. The new studio is beautiful and we love going there to train. In my opinion they have some of the greatest professors around.

From a competitive standpoint Gracie Barra Northridge and Professor Romulo Barral are one of the best in the world and should be sought out if it is your goal to compete. However after 6 months of training I have noticed that the gym's family like atmosphere and professionalism in all aspects rivals even that of it's competitive reputation.
Team Romulo Barral really starts with a team of coaches that can be trusted to bring unique individuality as well as the strong ethics that the gym is known for. I have been extremely impressed with Coaches Edwin, Gabriel, Jaeson, Peter, and Jason. There are many more coaches that contribute to make this gym truly special which shows you are never short on quality that is expected here.
The kids classes ran by the kid's head instructor Coach Jaeson bring the positive energy, discipline, and structure you'd be looking for in those type of classes. Having experience teaching kids Martial Arts myself in the past I can see the integrity in the classes and that's a very hard quality to actually find in Martial Arts these days.
As adult classes go you will gain a great experience and will be instantly glued to the complexity, usefulness, and self-esteem building that Jiu-Jitsu brings to the table. You get all that in it's purest form at Gracie Barra Northridge.

Highly recommend this academy. I've been training here for five years. We just moved to a new facility. Very clean and modern. But the most important part, the instruction you will get is world class. The classes are taught by black belts and or world champion competitors. The classes are very well organized and cater to all levels from first day beginners to high level competitors. They also have a great kids program. Though jiu jitsu is a combat martial art, the environment is very safe and well supervised. Stop by for a free class and see for yourself.
