An acceptable gym. Personally, with my busy schedule I like to be able to go to the gym, do what I want to do, and leave as working out has become more an activity for health maintenance instead of a hobby. And I think the majority of people would feel the same way about their time.
I've been working out at this site for nearly two years, but I rotate through different sites throughout LA and SB counties.
For reference, my routine involves squats on one day with some auxillary workouts; bench the next day with auxillaries; deadlifts another day with auxillaries; and OHP with auxillaries on another day.
This Pasadena site is often busy to the point you'll feel like a sardine packed into a can. Unless you go to the gym at 05:00 or 06:00 (that's AM) when the gym has about two dozen people in attendance. So there is quite a wait on everything including the squat racks. Although if you choose to do deadlifts, if you can find a bar and an empty spot or corner, no one will have any issues with you.
Cardio machines seem to be very busy during the evening (around 18:00, 19:00, or 20:00), but I hardly pay attention to them other than on my walk in.
Make sure to keep your eyes open for weights on the floors as most people are inconsiderate in their gym manners.
And have your mind ready with both a primary exercise schedule and a secondary exercise schedule because there's no telling when a piece of equipment will be available due to the fact that there are many non-regulars that flood the place.
Otherwise, I have enjoyed coming to this gym, and using their facilities.
